2nd best tackler on the team for the last few years. Umm yes, please obtain Mr. Church's talents. Unless your considering a replacement at safety position in the first 3 rounds of the draft (which I hope is saved for DL potential talent).

Money is a big priority huh.

I know money is important, maybe it's just how the quote came out that rubs me the wrong way. Good job Captain of the defense.
Isn't money important part of your decision on a job?
Money is always a big factor. Maybe not the only factor but any player who says money doesn't matter is being less than honest

Church like most of the guys who are free agents are upgradeable
The question is which ones you want to use a draft pick on
Church is a prime example. Solid player but not a huge impact player to me
But do I want to use a pick on him or say a second wr or LB
You have 3 or 4 picks you are likely to get a shot at a starter quality player
Do you use those to upgrade church? Replace Twill? Add pass rushers?

There are tactful ways to respond to questions. When you go interview and the hiring manager asks what are your goals or priorities at a new job, i don't think you would respond : money. Even though it's true. There are better ways of expressing it. Or maybe you don't even mention it.

In the case of an athlete. Maybe you should say things like: I love being part of the dallas cowboys, my family likes being here. I would love to stay if jerry could work out the finances. Something like that.

Or just be honest
He never said it was all about money
But when ever I've ever changed jobs money has always been a key factor

Of course it's a key factor but you shouldn't reveal it. I'm not disputing it's a factor, I just don't believe you need to divulge your financial concerns and if you do feel the need to, there are better ways of expressing it

I.e.: LocimusPrime what are your off season priorities?
LP: well archer, I love the cowboys organization and would love to stay here a continue what we started. Obviously my family and ensuring their future financial security plays a factor, but I'm positive that jerry will work that. Once again I really look forward to returning to the cowboys!

Time to move on. Spotrac estimates he's around $4.5MM a year. Tony Jefferson, who is 4 years younger, is estimated at $5.5MM.

I'd rather have Jefferson.
