Ravens, 49ers, patriots will do wonders with this kids talent, utilizing him run blocking, pass blocking, tough yards running on short yardage situations. My hope is that we keep him

Pollard ,Deuce, Dowdle, Luepke.
Luepke is the back that can block for the qb.
I don’t think we keep 4 RBs on the initial 53. Might only be 2. Pollard and Deuce. Of course we would add RBs once they clear waivers. But RBs don’t seem to get claimed as often as other position groups.

In order to keep those guys you are going to lose a much better player at another, possibly more valuable position.

This is the deepest team in years. They can't be keeping 4 RBs. Doesn't make much sense.
Most teams keep 4-5 RBs, especially if there’s a FB. The 90’s Cowboys always had at least 4 RBs, even with Emmitt.

Luepke can fill that John Kuhn role in Big Mike's offense. I can't see him not making this squad. He can do so many things that the other backs don't or won't do. Mainly, blitz pickup. Been worried about losing Zeke for this exact thing. Not to mention, they can stop with the o-lineman playing FB in short yardage and insert a guy who can block, take the handoff and catch a pass in the flat. He just brings too many positives to not make this team. JMO

If you put Luepke in a traditional FB and RB set with Pollard, he could do a lot of damage as the attention will likely be put on Pollard.

Luepke is the 2nd best RB on this team.
Occasionally, you like to get on people for what you believe is an outrageous opinion. Now it's your turn because this is bulldookie. Lol. I said it back when people were drooling over his tape that he has good hands but that his running style would not translate to the NFL. He leans into his tackler and goes down with first contact. He did better with that as the game went on yesterday but you don't risk real game situations on whether he can learn better or not. If they can find a role for Cool Hand Luepke this year then great but if they want to wait, he will clear waivers and clear it easily. People pumped over last night's game forget that last preseason games are discounted heavily. He'd clear waivers if he had a 100-yard game running the rock.

I don't think much of either Davis or Dowdle. Opinions can always be wrong, but I see them both as JAGs.

That's why I think Lupper is better, not due to his great talent. As far as him as a player, he's OK. What stands out is that he's a great blocker and good receiver.

IMO, we have:

Pollard: Very good comp back
Deuce: Nice gadget player
Lupper: Awesome blocker, decent power runner
Dowdle, Davis: Moderately talented JAGs. Phillip Tanner clones.

Exactly there is no point in keeping JAGs. They are a dime a dozen in free agency in case of emergency.
