Do not go out on Sunday and make any attempts to beat the Skins

Good for you, I wish I had a "great fan" trophy to give you. If you haven't noticed, this last game does NOTHING, I REPEAT, NOTHING FOR US. Tell me exactly what we will gain from winning this pitiful game?

You care about the right now, well, the right now is US GOING HOME. But if you care about the future of this franchise, then losing this game could be the difference between a future star QB, or a nice tackle which will do NOTHING to help us in the future. But by all means, enjoy your moral victory Sunday and I hope you're a happy fan when we go another decade without a trophy because some loyal fan wanted to beat the freaking deadskins.

Stop it. You have no idea who will be drafted or when. I would say that Smith picked at #9 has been better than Morris picked at #6 and JJ Watt picked at #11 has been better than either of them. Perhaps the greatest QB to play the game was a 6th round pick. So stop with all this we must have a top pick or we are doomed crap. It's just flawed rationale for you wanting this team to lose so you can further bash Garrett, Jerry, Romo, Rowdy, whoever the mob of haters want to toss around after the loss. I personally don't care who you root for or what, just like I don't give a rats butt what you think about me wanting my team to play hard and win every game they play. I just find the mindset of we must lose for the greater good to be a disgrace.

I see where he's coming from but he apparently has no idea where I'm coming from. I want a QB. We should have had one last year (or a bell cow RB to put that positional need to rest). The continued inability to pull various triggers is a huge source of frustration. That said, I hope it's a good game on Sunday.

The only thing that matters to me right now is draft position. Screw the Skins. We already beat them when it meant something. While the draft is not a science by any means, many many top tier QBs have been drafted top 3 or 4 and gone to lead their franchises to even greater heights (as expected).

I want the QB, too. In fact, I want both the win, and the QB.

Either way, I suspect you're going to get your wish. Tough to beat the Sk*ns sitting the players we're going to be sitting unless they also decide to pack it in to stay healthy (something else I'd hate to see the Cowboys do if the situations were reversed).

Don't worry, Jason Garrett and his band of merry water heads are allergic to winning

oh, but they will try.. but see that's the beauty of it, the ineptitude is so rampant that by actually trying to win they will lose

Lmao I wish I could give this more likes

I just don't get the mindset. I can not and I will never hope for, root for, or like any loss by my team regardless of the circumstances. I would be ashamed of any player that doesn't give 100 % trying to win every game. I played this game for 14 years and coaches a few more and I have to much respect and love for the game not to give it all I have every chance i had. I think it's a disgrace how many fans want to lose. I really do. It makes me sad and is way more disappointing to me than this season has been.

Sometimes you have to lose the battle to win the war..............the military calls it a "strategic loss".

Winning is not the end all be all, sometimes you have to have big picture thinking and realize that a loss is not always the worst option.........be it football or war.

I'm sorry that you're sad. You'll quickly be uplifted we we select our next franchise QB with a top 3 pick in a few months.

4 win season? We earned that franchise qb!

Basically, the draft position means more than the win for some. For some, it meant more than multiple wins and more than a potential playoff spot at one point. I can understand it, I guess.

I never feel that way, though. I like to see the team always try to win, regardless of circumstances. We'll deal with the draft when we get to the draft. At that point, obviously more ammo is better than less ammo, but I'm not in favor of throwing even meaningless games because of it. I'd rather get the wins and then just hope the players we're targeting slide or that the players we get instead turn out to be better than the guys we would have targeted, otherwise (and neither of those things is all that far-fetched).

Sure, it's lower probability, but since we'll never know for sure if they did or did not actually get the guys they really wanted, I can root for my team to beat the Commanders and still enjoy the good draft position and the players we add, regardless.

So last game of the year in 1988 you were hoping for a win against the Philadelphia Eagles knowing that we would lose out on drafting Troy Aikman?

A meaningless win in the season finale over a division rival was more important to you than drafting Troy Aikman?

And before you respond that "there are no Aikman in this draft", he was not a 100% slam dunk either. The Cowboys used a first round pick in the supplemental draft on Steve Walsh to hedge their bet on Aikman. This year, that franchise QB might be Jared Goeff and we might have a very real chance to draft him if we lose and pick in the top 3 or 4 picks.

What if Goeff turns out to be a superstar QB and would lose the chance to draft him because the team won a meaningless game against the Skins and we dropped to number #8 and drafted a LB instead? You telling me that is what you are rooting for?

I don't get that mindset and I never will. There is no way anybody can logically argu that a meaningless win against a division rival is worth losing a potential franchise QB over..........be it Troy Aikman or Jared Goeff.

Yep. Didn't I just say so?

There was no saying Aikman would have been Aikman. Or that the Cowboys wouldn't have been just fine going with Deion or with Barry Sanders and getting a QB somewhere else. But that's academic, anyway, because there's no way to know what might have happened otherwise.

If that were true, Garrett would have won many wars by now

my house is very "Old School" cowboys fans and would take any and all chances to win a game against the red people. However' this time we want the pick..sorry.

That is the most logical approach............I guess we are all "fake fans" because we want a franchise QB that can learn and play behind Romo.

If this season has taught anybody anything, it is that we have to have an elite franchise QB to run this offense. We have gone 1-10 without Romo and we used 3 different QBs over this time period. Bottom line is that we will lose every game unless we have an elite QB to run this offense.

No elite QBs will be left at pick 8, that is why so many fans are wanting the team to lose Sunday..................so I guess we are all "fake fans"

Franchise QBs can be found everywhere not just top 4 picks. ......go get on Washington bandwagon since you want us to lose to them.

Can't believe people call themselves Cowboys fans and cheer for Washington to beat us
