Do some fans not even realize how much this franchise has bottomed out?

there is no reasoning with homers
I disagree with Rambo2 a lot on this forum. Probably most of the time.

But one of the great things about this forum is we all have the right to express our opinions about the Cowboys the way we choose within the rules. He has the right to express his Cowboys opinions without hassle. And so do you. I support you both in that sense.

I want every Cowboys fan to have the right to express their opinions freely whether it’s a popular opinion or not.

We all all owe it to each other here to respect each other. Sometimes we just have to agree to disagree.

So what? At least I actually like the Cowboys.
I like the Cowboys too.

But I also have a little bit of self-pride and won't delude myself or get duped into believing these guys know what they are doing when they continue to do things that have failed over and over and over and over. It's kind of embarrassing IMO to be so rah rah with an owner/GM and organization that puts their own ego before actually trying to win games.

Very well said. Being a fan since the NFL announced that Dallas was going to have a team and going to their very 1st game at the Cotton Bowl, I have seen the worst of years and the best of years but regardless I have always been a fan. Game day is always special even when they lose but especially when they win.

Been to training camp in Oxnard and in San Antonio. Have been to the Cotton Bowl a number of times, season ticket holder when in Texas Stadium back when end zone tickets were around $35 a game and toured AT&T stadium a few times as well as attending games there. Tough to do now living 300 miles away and going on 74 years old.

Even when the season ends, follow them with free agency and the draft. Do I disagree with a lot of their moves and draft picks, you bet but doesn't change how I feel being a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Have disagreed with many on what they think but it is their right even when I think they are crazy.

Have followed football my whole life, played it, coached it, scouted some for a small college, and studied it. Does it make me an expert? In no way does it. But I try to come into conversations with a love for the Cowboys, with a respect for what the Cowboys coaches are looking for in a player, and of course with a knowledge of finances on why they do things especially the ones I disagree.

This forum has been a great place to read about the Cowboys, good and bad, disagree or agree, and information. The more things change, the more they sometimes stay the same.

Will the moves and signing they have made, make a difference this year, I sure hope so and expect so. Only time will tell, along with the injuries on our team as well as injuries sustained by other teams that we will play. Hopefully we make sure positive noise this year.

Thank you for this forum and thank you for the members of whom I disagree and agree, it is sometimes a God sent. Thank You.

Outstanding post. :star::star::star:

I am as down on this team, and especially the front office as anyone, but look what we've been through the last couple of year. The old guard is almost entirely gone now. Tyron, Zack, DLaw, JLew are all gone. I am pretty sure this was intentional. The Cowboys are, in fact, retooling, at least it is the Jerry Jones version of retooling. Now they are waiting for the young draft picks to develop to return them back to at least winning records. Now the team belongs to Micah, CeeDee, Beebe, Guyton, Tyler Smith and whoever they draft in the first two or three rounds this April.

We'll see if these players can develop into they players they replaced

Of course this won't work. The Cowboys will get as far as maybe winning the division but they won't have enough to get to a SB because they won't do what it takes to make that last step up. And then, these players will hit free agency and things will come apart again.

My guess is this is Jerry last retool attempt.

Yup. This is when we always go heavy on CBs, TEs, WRs, and injured players and ignore the trenches, especially on D. And then fall apart due to very odd 2nd round choices and bad OL picks in the mid/late rounds.

Go Cowboys! They show up for every game and I watch them also. :starspin: :flagwave:

yep homers are so pathetic. Cheer crap and claim its gold
McClay’s very first draft in 2014 would start a streak of three seasons where his 1st round picks all became All-Pros or Pro Bowlers.

Never talking about facts...but the 30 year calendar. Own up.

McClay’s keen eye for talent resumed in 2016 with the selection of RB Ezekiel Elliott at fourth overall. Elliott’s impact was immediate.

As a rookie, he won the NFL rushing title with 1,631 yards, teaming up with fellow rookie QB Dak Prescott to lead the Cowboys to a 13-3 record and the #1 seed in the conference.

He was selected to three Pro Bowls in his career along with two All-Pro selections, one of them being 1st team.

Two years later in 2018, the Cowboys went to the defensive side of the ball with the selection of LB Leighton Vander Esch at 19th overall from Boise State University...

Jerry needs a GM to get good players?

How one chooses to be a fan does not indicate a like or dislike of the Cowboys.
Or the other 2 funny homer responses...
You must have a miserable personal life if you post criticism.

OR how one chooses to fan here, whether positively or negatively, has any effect whatsoever on the Dallas Cowboys on field performance.

That type of immaturity makes me laugh and keeps this place so entertaining.

Cowboys!

If your strategy is to build a Super Bowl contender almost exclusively through the draft you need to consistently hit on each of your first three draft picks every year. If your “eye for talent” can come and go, or only lasts one round of each draft, you’re a candidate for not getting to a Super Bowl for decades. Probably forever.
