If that was the plan they shouldn't have traded for Cooper in the first place lol.
I don't, I believe the front office played this next to the best. Dak was a 4th rd pick and played like a 4th rd pick this past season. Couldn't beat Philly or the Jets when he was needed the most. Watch what happens this year...haaaaaaa!I put the blame squarely on the front-office for this entire mess.
Dak playing crazy hardball could mean he will not have his favorite WR. If Coop hits free agency there is a good chance we lose him. Not sure how Dak does not see this? Why cant Dak at least move some on his side to meet the Cowboys?

It will be comical when he goes back to being less than average because we can't afford to surround him with elite talent.
It's not Dak's fault the GM is bad at his job and ill-equipped to manage the cap.
this. Stupid give up a first unless you are also extending the deal at the same time. Just stupid
Yes you have to wonder what Dak would have taken after 2018, would he still have been wanting the alleged $40 mil, or even $35?
Though a lot of Cowboys fans wouldn't have wanted him to get a deal after 2018, after doing things like the T. Crawford deal...

We can, and will, blame Dak for everything. Why not blame him for this too?Dak playing crazy hardball could mean he will not have his favorite WR. can we also blame dak for why we lost Byron Jones and Robert Quinn? We can, and will, blame Dak for everything. Why not blame him for this too?

And he won four Super Bowls...

Wouldn't it be Coopers fault because he is asking for too much?
IN case you haven't been reading all the cap numbers for the last year on the Cowboys. They have 70 million in cap space this year. They can sign pretty much anyone they want.
What they are doing is avoiding doing something really stupid. Which I applaud them for. Its about long term success, not one year success.
Letting a guy like Jones walk is a perfect example of doing the right thing.
