Too much great history to be embarrassed....I feel bad for the younger generation who did not get the chance to experience that greatness. Now a days these win or go home games are their Super Bowls.

It would be tough in NO. Close to Dallas & they are contenders. And they kicked our butts this season. In record setting fashion too.

Try living in steelers country.

They have won two Super Bowls recently, passing us with 6.

They used to unhealthily HATE the Cowboys, .. now they only laugh at us, and everything going on in Dallas.

That article is spot on. Unfortunately.

I skimmed down the page & lol'd at the Terry Bradshaw comments.

I get what you're saying and I don't necessarily disagree with you.
How this team is managed IS embarrassing. There's no getting around that.

I haven't bought any Cowboys gear in a decade and a half and I won't until they get things straightened out. My gear comes from the late 80's and I still take good care of it.

But I will not denounce my fandom for them. I will not placate a fan of some other teaming dogging mine- that's a "female dog" move.
I will cite my team's history and say "yes" Jerry is steering this team wrong right now, but I have no say in that matter, but I'm a Cowboy for LIFE. I will not miss games. I will support them every game.
I am a good fan. I may not support them financially any longer, but I will support them emotionally.

Don't you?

I will quit watching pro football before I become a fan of any other team. I have been a fan for well over 40 years and I will die a fan. The one thing I will not do is support and defend the decisions and mistakes that this organization makes. I get labeled a hater and many other things, but I refuse to support everything this team does just because I am a fan. Some posters on this board feels like everything the team does has to be supported or I am not a true fan. I will never lower my expectations because this team can and should be winning more games. I understand what Raider fans went through with Al Davis after these last few years of watching Jerry. There was nothing they could do while the team declined and became a joke. Cowboy fans are going through the same situation and there is little hope for the future with the Jones family as owners. I wish things was different, but wishing is all fans can do. To answer your question, yes, the emotional part of wanting to see Dallas winning will never change. The hope is about gone though.

Not even kind of, and I live in the SF Bay Area. I don't even understand why this would be a question.

I will not dispute a single word of your post.
Nor will I say you are not a fan.
You sound like a proud fan to me and you want better.

Like all good fans SHOULD want.

Please hear me correctly- I never said being displeased with your team makes you a bad fan- denouncing your team publicly makes you a bad fan (which I'm not saying you did).

Denouncing team decisions or the path they are taking doesn't make you a bad fan. It means you have a brain.
Denouncing your team period... that's a whole 'nother story (once again- not saying you've done this).

True. Very true. But if thats the case we could also say after winning a Super Bowl....
Why should I be happy? Everything was out of my control, I didnt have anything to do with them winning.

i'd be happy that my favorite team won just like i am upset about how this season went, it's not the same thing. I'll never be ashamed to be a cowboys fan

Never embarrassed. I don't get embarrassed that easily. And I can always throw 5 rings in ppls face. Not to mention most ppl that like to say something derogatory about me being a cowboys fan, I usually show them up with superior football intelligence. They walk away tails between their legs.

That doesn't mean the team hasn't been embarrassing. They're a laughing stock. Never seen analysts openly hate on/laugh at a franchise on national TV.

In my book, only cowboys fans can dog the cowboys. IF its coming from a skins fan, I will defend my team to no end.
