Do you feel that this offense is "rolling"?

Indeed...big question marks...so classic that just as Zeke has played himself back into 2016 form he gets suspended...would be a shame to have the defense getting healthier and the offense beginning to gel and fire on all cylinders to have something like that be the derailed...the NFC is wide friggin open in my book even with Phily's improved play.

I still want Zeke to serve the suspension this year. It would be making a bad situation worse if this goes into next season.

Who really believes this team can win anything this year? They're half a team on a good day.

Word.

No. They have to score 70 points against a top 3 defense every week or they suck.

An offense can play well and produce weekly and not be rolling. To me "rolling" means running on all cylinders. Playing their best football. They simply have not done that this year.

Why shouldn't anyone believe you are just wanting a tank this season so you can say Wentz is better than Dak? Your agenda is either the worst satire job in board history or simply bad fandom. You are rapidly cashing in all the brownie points for funny posts pre Dak/Wentz.

Recently, I've seen this term used quite often to describe the Dallas offense. And I had to say to myself, "I'm not sure?" While you have to love the total points at the end of the day - 28, 30, 31, 40 - you also have to look at the quality of the defense's those scores have come against.

And when you do that, you see that those scores are coming against the 24th, 16th, 22nd, and 28th ranked defense respectively. Middle of the road or worse.

So I have to ask, is the offense "rolling" or are these scores more the result of facing lesser defenses?

I can't decide for sure one way or the other so I was looking to see what everyone else thought?
NO,,, I know it's not in precision tune,,, some immediate quick slants,a shuttle pass to #21 after he feigns pass protect, all kinds of quick, slick and killer attack plays ,I mean it's got the guys to rival/ surpass what San Francisco Joe's offense could come straight outta the gate and hit you with,,, get that#10 weasel punt fumbler opposite of #11,,,,#88 on the old jerry rice skinny post pattern and just RIFLE down the field quick, fast and continuously,,, were still fart knocking and not even hitting on all cylinders,,, YETo_O

Agreed. Dak needs a perfect QB rating, Zeke needs at least 7 yards per carry, the OL can't allow a pressure, sack, or TFL if they're playing their best (let's be honest), and no drops by receivers.

And it SHOULD be done against an undisputed #1 defense in every category. Can we combine Denver's pass defense with the Seahawks and just play them every week? Only then can we truly know if we're playing better than halfass.

I would say the offense is rolling yes but there record is 3 and3 so there is that the team as a whole is not rolling

He lives in Philly and loves Wentz. He hates Dak, Jerry, the coaches and multiple Cowboys players.

What kind of fandom is that? I call it Eagle fandom...

In the three games the Cowboys have won, they have held their opponent to 36, 46 and 103 yards rushing. In the three games they have lost, the Cowboys have given up 178, 168 and 160 yards rushing...

The defense, well, we are about to find out since in consecutive weeks the Cowboys will be playing offenses ranked eighth, third, seventh and fifth, sort of a Murderers’ Row in their own right...

http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/2...ense-rolling-what-about-defense-still-lingers

In about four more weeks we'll possess a realistic expectation of just how good both sides of the ball are really projecting now.

If they put up 30+ tomorrow yes.

Even if they ain’t rollin they’re playing really well

Hmmm. There's only one way to really know.

If an alien race with superior athleticism comes down to challenge our offense in an NFL match ala Spacejam.

Yes..

It seems to be getting dialed up.

But my concern is that unless the defense improves like this last game..

Too much pressure is going to breakdown the effectiveness of the O.

They are already having to play BOTH sides of the game with their effort.

If Zeke leaves for suspension..

that will break the camel's back.

It's getting late in the year as far as serving the suspension.

If it is delayed more..

his suspension could spill into the playoffs.

That would be deadly for us.

I'm sorry but it's doubtful they put up 30+ tomorrow simply because it's outdoors and it'll be raining all morning and all day.
Not to mention we're on the road for the 2nd consecutive week and it's a rival.

The offense has been rolling but let's be realistic.

Undoubtedly they are. Just as Denver's rankings got a big boost from throttling us. But nothing happens in a vacuum and it's not worth it or accurate to take the time and effort to divide those collective numbers. The flip side to the argument is how would Dallas' offense look if they hadn't played this poorly-ranked defenses?

The one top defense they have played thus far stole their lunch money. And the pattern begs the question of which is the biggest factor? The Dallas offense being that good? Or the defenses they've faced being that bad?

That was essentially the genesis of me asking the original question, to see what everyone else thought.

We beat the Giants who stole our lunch money twice last year. I would say that's an improvement.

The running game is looking better, the passing game doesn't scare anybody.

I'm not sure about that. I think we are adequate at passing the ball too. We should do it more often ON FIRST DOWN and stop forcing it to Dez.

When Bryant is averaging 50 yards a game and Beasley is well off of his 2016 pace and Williams is only good for plays for the other team, nobody can say this passing game is "rolling" and that has a lot to do with my original question.

If you're not a complete offense, can you be considered to be "rolling"?

If Josh Norman plays this week, can we count on Dez to make plays for us? Or is it another case of him being shut down when he faces one of the league's better corners?

Is it strictly about scoring points? Or is it about being a complete offense, hard to stop in all phases?

No we can't count on Dez for anything other than to drop a catchable Ball or two and need the ball forced to him because he can't get open for ****.!

Stash is one of the best posters here. Very fair. Capable of ripping or praising the team when he sees fit. A troll he is not. That label gets thrown around way too loosely by the sensitive.

People can't handle realism. At least the appologists can't. I'm not really on board with Stash's the offense sucks theme but it's a fair discussion about who we have played.
