I judge a GM by his roster decisions contributing to an end

the end is what I weigh more

but that's just me
This is a poor way to judge decisions. Let's say you have $100 to your name. That's it. Without it you don't eat for the week. Someone gives you an opportunity with a 99 in 100 chance of turning that $100 into $1,000,000. You take that chance and you lose because of that 1 in 100 chance.

Now you have $0 to your name. Was it a good or bad decision? If you say it was a bad decision, you're an idiot. You base decisions on the information you have at the time the decision is made, not in hindsight.

Ok, what do you expect the answer from majority will be considering Dan Reeves news? Any supporters he had left pretty much jumped the wagon most likely. Unless he does something else dramatic, he will be most despised owner, at least locally in Dallas.

His approval rating probably sunk below that of congress.

Today was a real embarassment. As if the 4th qtr of the Ravens game, the Eagles fiasco, Pac Trash Jones, Tank Turd Johnson, Owens doing interviews with Deion, Hard Knocks etc etc wasnt enough.

so instead of buying food, you gamble it on a lottery ticket? most people would say that is stupid

but a GM's job is to produce playoff winning and Super Bowl winning teams, as GM, Jerry has brought none of those, the fact that he has stacked so much talent, and the end result is still suckage, is even more damning

A decade is more than enough time to figure it out. Jones will never be a "football guy" on his own.

Yeah, Jerry Jones' popularity may be even lower than when he first bought the team.

Unfortunately, I believe he has dung himself in a hole that is going to be quite difficult to dig out of.

I believe it started when he emphatically stood by Wade Phillips before the Eagles Game. After the Eagles took apart the Cowboys, he felt that if he changed his mind, he would look like a flip flopper and guilty of knee-jerking.

Sadly, if he did have an impulse to fire Wade Phillips, it would have been the right decision this time.

I really hope the reason Dan Reeves is not in Dallas is because of Terrell Owens or Jason Garrett.

If you don't get why it's a good decision to make, I don't know what to tell you.

I've been a big Jones homer for years, but no more.

It was stupid when he publicly defended Wade after that Raven meltdown, it was just out and out moronic to continue to carry that torch after the Philly debacle. Maybe he really is senile.

I do get it, but it's unrealistic, no lotto ticket gives you those odds

but go and ask people out on the street whether you should use your money to buy food or a lotto ticket

make sure to bring a video camera, so I can send the tape into America's Funniest Home Videos

Yeah, I was a huge Jerry Jones homer until after the 2008 Season.

After that, I just realized that there was a common denominator and that was Jerry Jones.

As long as he maintains an open door policy and thus allow the players to circumvent the coaches, then he will have an extremely difficult time having success.

It looks like we're having trouble even making decisions in the first place.

you made a bad analogy

just tell me this, what GM has survived 13 years without his team winning a playoff game? talent on paper is good enough just to wipe your ***

His decisions have been sound in that regard in the recent past. They may not have all worked out, but at the time they were almost all sound decisions.

Hiring a soft head coach like Wade Phillips and rendering him nearly powerless is not a sound decision. He kneejerked due to the idea that Coach Parcells was too harsh and went right to the opposite side of the spectrum. That's not sound.

I agree with you about the draft decisions. He at least appears to have "got that" out of the four years.

that may have been a sub-factor, but he hired Wade to run the 3-4

I just don't see how this fact can be argued  .

Now you pretend to know what Jerry's decision making process was. You really are a jewel. I wonder if you really think that this is true without any doubt or if this is just your schtick.

I remember a situation where the coaching talent pool was pretty thin. It was Turner, Wade or Rivera and that was about it. But hey your theory is just wonderful in YOUR fantasy land.

I have to admit I am shocked at the results of this poll.

To show how much of a fine line there is in this poll, imagine if Romo doesn't get hurt, we make the playoffs and actually win one game.

I'm betting the results would be much different.
