Very nice Kap. How does it fire?

Haven't been able to get much work in. Last time at the range did mostly pistol drills. Shot about 100 rounds through her. She's a tack driver up to 100 yds. Nearest range further than 100 is a few hours away.

She has a 14.5" barrel. Effective range would be 300 yds and in. Most urban engagements are ~ 200 yds. Plus, I have other weapons for the longer stuff.

She's also piston driven versus gas. AND she's a lefty! Never had one of those - even while serving in the military. It's kind of odd really, so going to take some getting used to.

One of my favorite sites to visit is Boyds. They have some awesome laminate stocks. My favorite one is the bottom left, Sky. It's our colors.

I have always wanted to build a custom with that stock.

I own a Desert Eagle 9mm...called a "Baby Eagle".

Absolutely love it. Shoots great...not terribly expensive.

It's a red dot. Vortex Strikefire. $150 shipped. I can't see myself spending $500 - $1k for an optic on a 'fun' gun.

For a combat rifle I wouldn't put anything less than an ACOG on it.

Been getting some good reviews so I bought a couple to throw on my plinking guns. There are even reports that LEO's have been equpping this optic.

Great product for the price.

Thanks.

Cool site. Great colors too.

I've always been thinking of building a themed shotgun.

I'm thinking the Sky stock on a new shotty could be fun.

Thanks for sharing that site!

And in today's news...

A man is dead after police say he was confronted and shot to death by the homeowner who arrived in the middle of a burglary.

It happened shortly before ten o'clock Thursday night. The homeowner and his wife returned home to find a window open and back door slightly open. The homeowner went inside to check the house and was confronted by the intruder, carrying a three-foot sword.

The suspect made a threatening statement and began moving toward the homeowner, who pulled out a handgun and ordered the intruder to stop. The suspect was shot in the stomach after he continued to come at the homeowner and once he fell to his knees, he reached behind his back and the homeowner fired two more shots, hitting the suspect in the chest.

The suspect died at the scene. His identity has not been released, only that he was a white male in his mid to late 20s. They discovered the suspect had a .38 caliber handgun in addition to the sword.

Investigators say the homeowner has a valid Oklahoma Carry Concealed Weapon Permit. He was interviewed and no charges were filed.

I wonder how long it took the police to get there...

Dude, they can make just about any stock as you will see if you search around.

I too want to do a shot gun with a Sky stock. If you end up beating me to it, make sure to send me pics.

I have a single shot New England Firearms 12 gauge that I shoot skeet with. I think it would look so nice with that sky stock.

Does this read kind of funny to anyone? I can see the homeowner carefully laying out the events in full on CYA mode.

For some reason I doubt the guy came after them with a sword.

It says he also had a .38.

Right, so why would the guy charge them with a sword if he had a gun on him? If the guy had an exit, he'd likely just bust for the exit.

Drugs. Mental disorder. There could be any number of reasons.

I guess so. Seems unlikely to me. The story just seems too perfect.

He ran at me with a sword. I shot once. He fell to his knees and reached behind his back and I shot twice more.

Reminds me of something a cop friend of mine would always say -- if you get in a situation where you need to use deadly force, make sure there's only one story being told.

As sick as it sounds, I agree with him. I wouldn't need 3 shots though.

Funny, he always followed the saying with, "Double-tap, center chest."

He had the sword in his hand when confronted. As stated he also had a .38 and I believe the homeowners 9mm also. He likely was using the same door the homeowner came in to ferry items out of the house, which would now be behind the victim ie the HOMEOWNER.
