Anything can happen and today's NFL tends to favor offensive minded coaches over defensive minded coaches. He not only has a great offense, but played a large role in us landing Dak and it has worked out brilliantly. He could also point out that he's learned from his past mistakes as he was very shotgun and pass happy in Minnesota, the Rams and Detroit and is not pass happy in Dallas.
On the flip side, his experience with the Rams works against him and I'm sure owners and GM's will think that since they don't have the best O-Line in football, what is he going to do with their O-Line and no EE or Dez Bryant or Cole Beasley and Witten?
You never know how some coaches think and he may want a good situation. Personally, I see the possible openings being Buffalo (if they don't make the playoffs), Cleveland, Indy, San Diego, Chicago and San Francisco. Even with Indy you have the issue of having to deal with Jim Irsay and San Diego has the issue with their ownership and the team moving. I would probably take the Chicago job if we could guarantee that we select a QB with our first overall pick. Plus, I thought I read somewhere that 1 NFL exec was saying that Linehan is meant to be a coordinator, not a HC. That could be the prevailing sentiment in the league.
