Do you think the Dallas Cowboys could beat Jacksonville Jaguars?

With this years team and Bledsoe on the field I expect to win every game on the schedule...I don't expect to go 16-0, but I expect we can beat any team on the schedule this year.

Call me a homer I guess...I have not felt this way in many years.

what did Jacksonville become a great team all of a sudden, OF COURSE WE CAN BEAT THEM!!!!!!! Will we, well that's another question

We are a better team than last year, and last year we went in and beat the Chargers in San Diego.

Personally, I think the Jaguars are one of the teams that will take a step back this season.

Fred Taylor is about through, and they have no real go-to RB to take his place.

Byron Leftwich is simply an average NFL QB, and that will probably be all he ever is. Borderline overweight most of the time, often injured, and slower of foot than even Bledsoe. His arm is good and relatively accurate, but overall, I don't think he will ever be anything much better than average. A QB who could win, but only with a strong running game.

The WR corps are definitely not as good as they were last season, without Smith, a leader on the field as well. Reggie Williams has not stepped up yet and there other starter is a former college QB who is still learning the position and has shown to be good on a couple of big plays a game.

Their defense is very good, but is slowly being depleted in free agency, at LB and DB.

I think the Jaguars take a step back this year, out of the playoffs, around 8-8 or so. Therefore, I think we win this game, even on the road.

By the way, so much for homefield advantage. They hardly ever sell out anymore which leads me to believe that a large percentage of the crowd will be Cowboys fans.

Great analysis.
Can you replace Theisman on MNF?

No. We're going to take a hellacious beating. I bet at least a 1/2 dozen forum members will OD on poprocks & pepsi before the end of the 3rd quarter.

No, the Cowboys will not beat Jax...as a matter of fact, I don't think the Cowboys can win any games this year!

That was pretty much the case last year with less talent and a brand new offense to learn. I won't be surprised if they go 14-2. Heck they would have gone 12-4 last year with Vanderjagt doing the kicking.

The Jags will be Philadelphia South now. Good QB, RB, and crap wide receivers. Well i'll say unproven wide receivers.

Jaguars are not a very good team. They had a great record due to a stupidly easy schedule. If they had the chargers schedule last season they would have barely went .500 if not worse, certainly not better than the Charger's record. They didn't make any significant strides in the offseason so if the Cowboys lose to the badguars then it's time to start worrying about the season's outcome.

First post? :welcome: to the board!!!

We don't see many Jaguars fans on this forum, so as a current resident of Florida, I'll be the surrogate Jags fan for this thread.

.....Jags mind hat goes on.........

You bandwagon Cowboys fans just don't get it. The Jags had the #6 defense in the NFL last season and managed a playoff spot (can you Cowboys fans spell p..l..a..y..o..f..f..s, I didn't think so) in an AFC that has been clearly superior to ther NFC for years now! After reading the eyewash in this thread I can see that you folks need some schoolin'...let's get to it...

Some of you folks say the Jags had a soft schedule...let's see

We played the Seahawks..and won...how did the Cowboys do?

We played the Bengals and Steelers..and beat them both. Now I'll admit the Jaguars had some easy opponents last season in that we played the Texans twice (an embarrassment to Texas, wouldn't you say?), and the Titans twice (didn't they come from Texas?) and the 49er's but the Cowboys had some easy games on their schedule as well (How bout them Raiders?). We took care of business and you folks didn't and then you talk about our easy schedule. Typical.

Now our offense was not quite as good stats wise as the Cowboys...but of course we lost our starting QB for part of the season. Now, he was still able to come up with a higher QB rating than Deadslow...er Bledsoe, but Leftwich is still a kid who has improved every year and we expect him to do better still this season. Our top draft picks this year were at TE and RB and we expect both guys (UCLA boys) to make an immediate impact on our offense. Some of the pundits said the Jags made the most out of the fewest picks of any team in the draft this year.

I see the votes in this poll are lopsided for the Cowboys...but what should I expect on this board so full of homers it makes me sick? How could I expect any fairness and recognition of our superior team here? Why do I bother? I'm outta here.

.....Jags mind hat comes off......

Who was that guy? ;)

lspain1, That is a good post. At least entertaining.

The Jags are one of those teams that is on the verge. They rarely seem to have a complete game on both sides of the ball.

In all fairness they beat the Steelers without Big Ben in Pitt.
They had an early jump on the Bengals in Jax.
They barely beat San Fran in Jax.
They actually lost to the Broncos in Jax.
They beat the Seahawks but lets not forget that Smith scored twice in that game, and he is no longer on the roster and again in Jax.

Thanks SkinsandTerps, I made the correction! I had some fun with it. The Cowboys are actually pretty easy to make fun of because so much has happened.

You are actually quite right about the Jags. They live and die with their defense. Their talent on offense is suspect overall I think. I'm not sure Leftwich is not a young version of an immobile Bledsoe.

Maybe the poll should have said "will" we beat the Jaguars.

Of course I think we can beat the Jaguars.

I think we have a better chance with our offense now that we have Owens.

And if we play defense the way we did last year, we can hold the Jags in check, especially now that Jimmy Smith is retired.

The Jags DT combo is pretty good, but that's about the only strength I see in their favor.

I say 28-16 Cowboys.

My bad.

I see where you have in the thread "could beat" and in the poll "will beat."
