NO. I don't want JJ getting one more dime this year by hosting a playoff game. This team is trash this year...let him soak in this year that started with SB expectations and not even being able to make it to the playoffs.

He will never come to his senses and do the right thing...so let him be misearable.

DallasEast Trivia

< Guy reads claims by another member or members using pronouns like 'all', 'everybody', 'most', etc., and presto! He usually creates a thread for a sampling of the membership's thoughts on the subject.

This has been DallasEast Trivia, brought to you today by the makers of Rowdy-B-Gone. Just sprinkle a little Rowdy-B-Gone on your television whenever you see an evil looking NFL mascot appear on the screen. Rowdy-B-Gone does not make the evil mascot disappear but does leave your television smelling minty fresh! Pick up Rowdy-B-Gone at Walmart (across from AT&T Stadium).

Let's come up with a list of Pro's and Con's:

Pro - they would have a chance - however slim - to win a championship

Con - It might somehow lead to Garrett's coming back

I'd love to win #6, but that's a really long shot.

I don't want Garrett back, and that has a good chance of happening with one lucky playoff win.

Nope

Long-term, its better if we lose out
I don’t believe just making the playoffs, which will only be as Division Champs, will have any bearing long term. The only way Garrett stays is if the team is in the NFCCG which is very, very, very unlikely. I’ll take Garrett another year if that’s the case. As far as worse draft position by virtue of making the playoffs, the team can and will get a starter quality player drafting in the early 20’s as opposed to mid-teens.

I firmly believe this is all a moot point anyway. This team will be lucky to finish even 8-8. Anybody that thinks that they will have "earned a playoff spot" at that point is a true loser.

One lucky playoff win ain’t saving JG. He’ll have to take this baby all the way to the NFC Championship game and not get blown out.

Does making the playoffs exclude Jerry from firing the entire defensive staff and starting over? That goes for ST and other 1st time coaches who have struggling players who used to be dam good (Colombo). Changes in the coaching ranks need to be made regardless of how we do on the field, but if losing now guarantees those changes then so be it cause we likely ain't winning much anyway.

I guarantee Jerry is moving on from Garrett, unless he miraculously helps lead our team into the Super Bowl.
I wish I could believe this. JJ is so blind to his own hinderance to this team and so stubborn about his JG decision, he'll look for anything to justify keeping JG on. Even a close loss in the first round, he could say, "I saw some great things in that game and they did not quit, I'm keeping JG".

NO, I think they'll be lucky to win one of the last three games and I don't want any excuse for Jerry to keep Garrett, I am through with him as the headcoach with the same mistakes game after game for ten years now,,,,,and if you think that getting into the playoffs give them a shot then you haven't been paying attention to this teams play on the field, you don't just flick a switch and every thing is better, they're a seriously flawed team......

The easy answer is yes, sure, I like extending my Cowboys football watching as long as I can.

But I also know that we've reached the point that this franchise needs a bomb dropped on it. So I am torn.............. I don't want to give Jerry any stinking excuses to think or justify to himself that we don't need wholesale changes.
