Salary cap. It’s typical in Dallas to load up on offensive skill positions and nickel and dime on defense. That’s why this team has sucked for 25 years. Cooper being signed was beyond idiotic. Especially considering the hardball they were playing with Dak. They should have tagged Cooper. After the draft they would have known he was a short stay.
It would have been better to tag Cooper and sign Dak. Cooper would be gone though. And we would have a 3rd round pick to show for it.

Only reason I would accept Gallup being gone is to get a cornerstone player on Defense, I just don't know who that would be.

Absolutely want him back. Wouldn’t hesitate to see what his trade value looks like, but if I’m not getting a haul back I’ll probably pass.
A haul for gallup? Never. 2nd round pick and another lower pick? Id contemplate

This poll is one of several being created to show current fan opinions about Cowboys players returning for the 2021 season.

You can use whatever qualifiers you want in your posts, but the poll does not care about your qualifiers!
I'd only consider a draft-day trade for a 2021 2nd or 3rd rounder. I wouldn't do a trade for a 2022 draftee. Jarwin's the reason why I'm jettisoning Gallup. Guys already under contract for 2 additional years. Schultz will be cheaper to retain. Draftee could be used to replace Gallup or get another tight-end. I'd rather keep him Gallup though.

I'm voting No. I don't want no Gallup, Dak, Zeke, Cooper, Tyron, Collins, Lamb, or Tank. Get them all outta here.
Please tell me this is sarcasm. If not you should definitely apply for a head coach h job immediately

Gotta trade him, while his value is high. We have good receivers, and at least two TEs that are good receivers. Time to sacrifice to help some on defense.

I agree, except trade Amari, get rid of his big contract and while he is an excellent route runner and very good WR, he cannot go up and get a ball like Gallup or CD can. I bet someone like NE would take a hard look at Amari - they need a WR pretty bad, no big QB contract to deal with.. middle of the road 1st rd pick, I would dangle him out and see.

Bring me the people who voted no.....
He only has one year left on his deal. And you need a lot of help on defense.

Honestly to me, it's almost a no brainer that you should explore trading him to see what you can get back.

What is Dallas honestly going to get for him in a trade? They drafted Gallup in the third round which means they’d need at least a second for him. I’m not sure they can draft better than Gallup in the second round and no way is he worth a first. Dallas drafted well in Gallup. Don’t get too cute now.

Gallup's 2019: 66-1107-6

Gallup's 2020 with a game to play: 55-794-5

That's a clear regression.
