Oh, the irony of trading Crayton because he's upset about being the No. 4 receiver and turning around and signing T.O. as his replacement.

It would be funny, wouldnt it? lol

I'd rather keep Crayton any day of the week than bring him back.

Well he'd be a nice #2 on a good team with a ProBowl QB for around 1.4 plus incentives.

Owens knows he could set a few records to vault himself into the Hall as a shoe in, a QB like Manning, Breese, Brady or even Ryan could be his ticket to ride.

Anything is possible, plus he had Brian Brohm, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Trent Edwards, probably the worst 3 QBs that played a snap last year excluding Jake Delhomme, Marc Bulger and JaMarcus Russel as his 3 QBs, yet he still produced like a upper echolon #2, now say we bring him in as the #4. No way a team can stop us, say RW11 is sucking it up like usual and either Miles or Dez is hurt, then we go from being insanely packed at WR to pretty light. So say you have Owens, Bryant/Owens or Austin/Owens in case of an injury is still a god durn explosive WR core, it would just be so deadly that team DC's would cry.
There's more to football than just raw numbers though. Having TO on the team actually made Romo underperform due to trying to appease him. So even though TO had decent stats, they came at the expense of Romo and other receivers who would have been better targets to go to.

I hadn't considered Atlanta, they make sense if he will prove he will be a good boy, put him next too Roddy White and then having Gonzalez has their TE and Turner out the backfield they would then be the only team thats offense could compare to us, but Romo > Ryan so we would win that argument, but still Owens to Atlanta makes alot of sense when you think about it,.

He may be another player that just never get's picked back up and is never heard from again like Jeff Garcia. No retirement, no nothing. Just gone.

According to Frank Tadych of NFL.com, the consensus among NFL Network insiders and analysts is that there is no market for Terrell Owens at this point, and it will take a training camp injury to create his next job. That, of course, is not uncommon for veterans. But it is a cold, hard reality.
I saw the entire segment. Basically they made it sound like nothing would happen until training camp. The big problem is his asking price is at least $5 Mil a season and no team will touch him for that right now. Especially since he is viewed as a #3 WR not a starter. Would you want to pay that much for a non-starter who brings all that baggage? Now you know why he is still unemployed.

Also most teams want to see what they have with their younger WR's and want to see one of them step up and prove themselves. Should things start to fall apart as the season approaches then TO might become a part of the conversation since TO's asking price should be lower by preseason.

but he produces and has talent, you can not deny that even at his age he is a much better reciever than people give him credit for, thats why we would wait that long he would relieze no one wants him and if he wants to even make a run at some more records to become a 1st ballet hall of famer, he needs to go somewhere so you have Jerry or Stephen or someone call him up and say "We'll give you 2m for this year, youll be a backup and if you have 1 mishap your gone" and he'll either take it and excel in the role, or decline it. No harm in trying really.

I know everyone is going to hate on me for this, but say come Augest 15th he has no team and we have a offer on the table for Crayton and Hurd i'd call up Owens see where his head is at and if he really did turn a new leaf, i'd bring him in to be the 4th WR.

Just imagine a set with Austin, Ogletree, Bryant, Owens, Witten on the field. No way you can cover them all (notice I had OgleTree over RW11, it'd probably be RW11 over OgleTree)
Just stop. PLEASE.

It is the off season.

I didn't mean as per the rules, I mean in general. It's like posting an article about, as was mentioned, Jeff Garcia.

I guess it's something to argue over, the national web forum past time.

Not a big deal, I just couldn't care less about the guy.

His numbers come at the expense of the team though. I remember Romo throwing INT's trying to get the ball to a pouting Owens.

Plus I honestly don't think he's near as good as he used to be. He struggles getting off the jam, which is how teams were able to shut him down against us. Plus his hands are unreliable. Honestly he seems to me like a much faster Roy.

I'll go with team players that don't whine when they don't get the ball. This way the quarterback doesn't feel pressured to force the ball to them.

Plus TO is incredibly charismatic which is extremely dangerous when paired with his narcissistic personality. This is why he always causes divisions in locker rooms wherever he goes. His numbers aren't worth the divisiveness.

The Cowboys do NOT need T.O. Their WR corp is more than capable of holding their own without him. The Cowboys have Austin, Williams, and Bryant, and we haven't even brought Witten into the discussion. With so many passes to go around, how much will be left for T.O.? Will he be disgruntled and publicly criticize the playcalling because not enough plays are being drawn for him? History says he will, and then the Cowboys will be dealing with the same headache they had when he was on the team before. In T.O.'s mind, he still thinks he is the #1 WR, so I highly doubt being second or third fiddle would be to his liking.

With the corp of WR's the Cowboys have, they have the potential to be the most productive in the NFL. The Cowboys are just fine without T.O.

Good for T.O., Hope he enjoys retirement :laugh2:

I can just imagine a T.O. retirement ceremony.

Joined only by Drew Rosenhaus at a table featuring a generic, white helmet with the "NFL" emblem, shooting down Ed Werder's series of questions with "Next question" and "No comment."

Oh, and televised on VH1.
