Is he still asking for $9-10Mill a season? Only way he gets signed is if he takes a major pay cut. Personally I wouldn't even pay him $5mill/season....

First it was San Fran, then it was Philly, then it was Dallas........

At some point you just burn all of your bridges and teams just dont want the hassel anymore. It is pretty obvious that Buffalo was the only team interested in him last year, nobody in their right mind would choose Buffalo if another team was interested.

And now Buffalo doesnt even want him back. So we have the 49ers, the Eagles, the Cowboys, and the Bills all wanting nothing to do with him and you guys are wondering why another team hasnt signed him yet???

And the idea of bring TO back to be the #4 WR is just ridiculous. So when he goes an entire game without a single catch because Austin and Bryant are kicking arse, TO is just going to sit there quietly and not say a word???

Yea, right. I guess Romo and Witten (who TO accussed of making up secret plays) are going to just be thrilled with him being back also???

"Hate"? No.

"Laugh my *** off uncontrollably"? Yes.

Trust me. One day, you too shall eventually learn that there is a real world out there for you to embrace. It's going to happen. I know it will. I've got faith in you, young man. It will be... sniff!.. glorious! :cry3:

I think people might be missing out on how this actually does affect Dallas. If he is not signed by a team, then he is going to go to a Network somewhere as an "analyst".

With his buddy Deion pulling some strings to get him a job, hello NFL Network and hello extra Cowboy basher to pal around with Dukes, Faulk and Woodson.

I know everyone is going to hate on me for this, but say come Augest 15th he has no team and we have a offer on the table for Crayton and Hurd i'd call up Owens see where his head is at and if he really did turn a new leaf, i'd bring him in to be the 4th WR.

Just imagine a set with Austin, Ogletree, Bryant, Owens, Witten on the field. No way you can cover them all (notice I had OgleTree over RW11, it'd probably be RW11 over OgleTree)

NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger suggested the Panthers should take a look.

They absolutely should. Steve Smith could use even a perceived threat to take some pressure off of him. The only drawback to the Panthers that if they start Moore or Clausen, both Smith and Owens would be griping in their ear. That might be a huge problem, but from a talent perspective, that is a great spot.

Another place that could theoretically work is San Diego. They have a great number one in Vincent Jackson and an okay two in Floyd, but Legedu Naanee scares no one. He would instantly be the best receiver on the Rams, but then again, there is the young QB. It is amazing to me the Jaguars aren't interested. If anything else, he might sell a few seats.

He will eventually surface somewhere. The good thing about him is that you know he will keep himself in shape and he could even miss camp and still report ready to play. I am sure he is on injury emergency lists in many places.

I think it depends if TO is willing to swallow his pride and take a very low pay check. His talent is not what it once was and being a pain in the butt does not endear him to many teams.

You know, as I read the first few posts . . . I thought it might be funny to make a sarcastic "Lets sign TO! post". But then I figured, naw, that'd be too stupid.

Then I read your post.

And you were being serious.

His asking price will go down once someone gets injured and camp is almost over.

Reminds me of when Erik Williams was "contemplating retirement" and then changed his mind right as camp was ending :laugh2:

There's more to football than just raw numbers though. Having TO on the team actually made Romo underperform due to trying to appease him. So even though TO had decent stats, they came at the expense of Romo and other receivers who would have been better targets to go to.

Exactly. Turdsmell is a ME kinda guy.

Well, I was reading through the pages and I had a thought.

I asked myself who the first idiot would be to say we should re-sign TO?

And sure enough....

I guess age and bridge-burning finally caught up to TO.
I still think his pride is a problem too. Apparently he still thinks his skill is good enough to not only have teams overlook the drama, but also compensate him highly.

He has to market himself as cheap and reliable and has yet to get that desperate. If he is not careful, he could easily go the way Joe Horn did in a year's time.

Around he NFL WRs are now expendable. Meanwhile, prideful people always sabotage their lives.

I think the Rams makes sense. Who else does their #1 pick have to throw to?

Someone will sign him for a lower contract than he likes and use him far less often than he likes.

Not sure when he retires but his best days are far gone.

I could see him have one last good season somewhere because he's so prideful but he can't maintain a high level anymore.

Raiders make sense. There is less than zero chance Haley in KC calls him ... anything but a rat.

A lot of times guys go home. I could see him a Titan or a 49er. Both places would have tough coaches that feel they can handle him and could use a 2nd WR type. T.O. can't seem to get off the line of scrimmage anymore but he can block so the Titans may like that fit.

End of the day it isn't a big story because he probably has zero impact on the standings. He's now a bit player.
