If his ego would allow himself to accept that he's no longer a #1 wr then he might get signed.

It's a shame he didn't end up on the Skins. It would have been one of the most enjoyable seasons in memory.

At this point I actually think money isn't even the primary issue. He looks very much to me like the superstar who has begun his decline. And while there will be days when he could put up big numbers and people will insist he could do this every week the fact is he couldn't and wouldn't. There is no longer consistency to his game.

You can point to his physique and incredible diligence at taking care of himself but those looks are deceiving. Its not the same.

Add to that the locker room risk and the fact that you are spending a roster space on a progress stopper who will not be there the following year for a variety of reasons. Its over IMO. Even if someone signs him for 2010, its over.

It happens to all players. They eventually become irrelevant. TO is there. I have no ill will towards the guy but he is now irrelevant.

I don't think its the attitude issues. It may play a part in it but he's asking for 5 million. No team is gonna give that up right now for him. Raiders would take him in a heartbeat. I have no doubt in my mind about that. There's always a team willing to take the bait on him. He wasn't terrible last season. He's never terrible in his 1st year. He's a great 1st year rental. The years after is where the problems come.

I didn't mean as per the rules, I mean in general. It's like posting an article about, as was mentioned, Jeff Garcia.

I guess it's something to argue over, the national web forum past time.

Not a big deal, I just couldn't care less about the guy.
I don't care about him either, but we need stuff to shoot the breeze about.

Here's the market I imagine will bring the most economic gain to T.O. in his athletic career. He should quit football and pursue boxing. First, he should fight a few chumps just to get fans interested and then...you set up the big bout between TO and Mike Tyson.

We're not talking Celebrity Death Match here. This is the real thing. People would watch in droves. It would spark the American economy. This is just what we hard-working sports fans need. I want to see T.O. get knocked out even if it is by another low-life piece of trash.

He will be picked up sometime this coming season.

He'll land on the Commanders. He's holding out for Danny Snyder's big bucks. The writing is on the wall.

I guess age and bridge-burning finally caught up to TO.

To T.O.'s credit he made the best out of an awful situation last season and didn't throw anyone under the bus (the ONE TIME he could have and been right). The media was relentless in trying to goad Owens into being a distraction and he didn't fall for it once.

With that being said, yes, the will be a market for T.O. It won't be at the 5 mil he's looking for, right now, but there will be a market for him.

I do think it's funny that some people on here claim they wouldn't pay Owens 5 mil for his production but staunchly defend the waste of a roster spot on Rot Williams for 9 mil. (especially considering they put up similar numbers last season and Owens was working with 3 of the worst QBs in the NFL last year).

but he produces and has talent, you can not deny that even at his age he is a much better reciever than people give him credit for, thats why we would wait that long he would relieze no one wants him and if he wants to even make a run at some more records to become a 1st ballet hall of famer, he needs to go somewhere so you have Jerry or Stephen or someone call him up and say "We'll give you 2m for this year, youll be a backup and if you have 1 mishap your gone" and he'll either take it and excel in the role, or decline it. No harm in trying really.

Why?

We'd have to go 4WR sets and empty backfield (with Witten).....

or take Witten off the field to get Owens on there.

Either is a fail.

These experts/analysts/insiders are blowing smoke. Numerous teams would have him.
He will get picked up, believe me.

He doesn't care right now.

When Camps start he will lower his price and he will be playing football somewhere.

This.

I think Pittsburgh should take a look, with the loss of S. Holmes and the Sweed injury they could use TO.

Can you imagine Ben R and TO trying to one up each other in the big man on campus contest! Would anyone be safe!

I am the BEST!
No, I am the BEST!

Are you serious?
No one defends RW11 at this salary.
It is guaranteed so we merely accept that he will be here this year.

This is the one guy we made a stupid Dan Snyder like deal with. I dont know how Skin fans even have the guts to turn on the tv and watch that team.

I was surprised the Bills brought him in. So Yes there is a market for him. When a coach realizes he's about to get fired, he will stick his hands on the stove and see just really how painful TO is.

TO is going to be worthless to a bad team. Put him on a talented team with a good QB and he can help them. Even on a bad Buffalo team with no QB he out produced every WR we had last season except for Austin. TO is going to have to accept a reduced fee or he may have to wait until camp and see if anyone gets hit with an injury at WR.

Cowboys were best shot he ever had to win a SB. Now thanks to his reputation he probably won't have a chance to get on a legitimate team with a chance.
