Does A Playoff Win Save Wade's Job???

Hey fellas, do yall think a playoff win would save Wade's job this year???

I know the assumption is that if we dont make the playoffs or if we are one-and-done in 2009, that Wade is out the door........no questions asked.


However, what if we make the playoffs and actually win a 1st round game???

Does this automatically save Wade from getting fired or does Jerry still pull the trigger and bring in Shanny or Holmgren or Cowher, ect......


I am not sure myself, Jerry just might keep Wade another year for a playoff win............maybe.

I hope not.

I'd rather he at least get to the NFC championship game. Our schedule is soft, we have our "franchise" QB, no distractions, if we don't make it to the NFC championship game or the SB, this team, this coaching staff, needs to be reconstructed.

well his defenses always get a lot of sacks and put up good numbers but they've never won anything.

I disagree. Our roster is much prettier than most.
There are teams with far less talent that make it to the playoffs.
Our main problem is coaching.

Not only are we throwing away the progress we made with Wade, but we are going to get our players pilfered by him when he lands another job.

Couple that playoff win with a strong December, a team that finishes strong and is clearly on the upward path, and that's a big YES.

Finish with a weak December, lack of discipline, eck out a first round victory, and then implode in round two with poor play, and that's a big NO.

It's as much about the direction, commitment, and style with which the team finishes the season as it is winning/losing the final game.

Oh please no! I'm tired of retread and unqualified head coaches coaching the Cowboys. It would be nice to see a young head coach come in here with confidence and fire and take control of this franchise. Urban Meyer all the way, I know that won't happen though!

Last year the line was Super Bowl or bust.
This year we are talking about winning A playoff game.
Sounds like regression to me, but i might be wrong.

I think it would depend on how the offense performed during the season as to Garrett's fate.

If we are smoking teams left and right on offense and end the season ranked in the top 5, I highly doubt Garrett would be fired.

Most likely, Garrett would finally get that HC job if he can get the offense going like he did in 07 and show everybody that 08 was just an outlier season.



Either way, I highly doubt that both Wade and Garrett are back in 2010.

We need a veteren coach, my choice is cleary Shanny.

I guess we'll see, but this is a very talented team that hopefully wont be as snake bit by injury in 2009.

I think barring a rash of injuries we will win 10-12 games and make the playoffs. I think the schedule is going to be favorable (AFC West is awful, NFC will be down IMO, GB is mediocre and Seattle will be average at best)

I'd be happy with someone who the players respected and that Jerry couldn't undermine. It doesn't have to be Parcells Jr. or II, it just needs to not be another Switzer Campo or Phillips. Nothing will change until a real coach actually leads the players.
