I think Shanahan will be the next coach of the Cowboys.

Let's pray this does not happen. The "has been" coaches need to stay retired.

If he wins a playoff game, I hope a gold statue of him is constructed outside the new stadium.

I disagree, Shannahan is not a "has been" coach. He is one of the best coaches in the entire NFL. The problem he had in Denver was that they made him the GM also and he had total control over personnel.

Shanny is not a GM and cant draft worth a crap, that would not be a problem here since Jerry is never, never, never, never, never, never going to give up his GM title. Like Jerry said the other day, he has always had the final say over the 53 man roster and he always will.

So we wont be bringing in a "washed up" coach in Shanny, we will be bringing in one of the best coaches in the entire NFL and he can focus stictly on coaching here.

I don't see how having Jerry as his GM and picking his players for him will help. Sounds like a wash.

I know the assumption is that if we dont make the playoffs or if we are one-and-done in 2009, that Wade is out the door........no questions asked.


However, what if we make the playoffs and actually win a 1st round game???

Does this automatically save Wade from getting fired or does Jerry still pull the trigger and bring in Shanny or Holmgren or Cowher, ect......


I am not sure myself, Jerry just might keep Wade another year for a playoff win............maybe.
