Does anybody else feel the same way about this season and Dak?

Nearly 30 years of not getting past the 2nd round but it's all on Dak

I'd be surprised if we do it this year because we have, YET AGAIN, huge holes that are ignored. No real kicker. One injury away from problems on the O-line. One Tony Pollard injury away from a run game consisting of Malik Davis and Deuce Vaughn. It's going to be hard to beat teams that go 'all-in' like the Eagles or 49ers.

There's a reason Jalen Hurts looked like a completely different QB last year when a couple of years prior, the Eagles were our punching bag. Their FO actually builds a team to win a superbowl versus us who builds a team to be 'regular season successful'.

how dare you make sense in this place. You have to bash the QB or put him on a pedestal. Theres no middle ground. You are exactly right if things dont go swimmingly well on the injury front this year we could be looking at another early exit.

you dont want dialog you want agreement. youve been a 1 trick pony for years when it comes to conversing about this QB.
Actually, I welcome friendly debate and while I, like every poster on here, take a certain stance when it comes to Dak as the QB for Dallas after 7 seasons I would like to believe I have more than 1 trick up my sleeve.

I dont know how in the heck Dak could have missed Sweat or the TE that bad. Heck i could make that pass. That being said our said QB gets literally every pass put under a microscope to ridiculous levels. If he just lofts it higher it dont take a 3rd and 30 but that can be said about alot of things. I mean here's his stas for the game.

D. Prescott
27/353473133

he made the great pass on 3rd and 30. bad passes can lose games I agree so can dropped ints, so can bad tackling ,so can penalties and poor play calling. too much of this fanbase is focused on 1 player because when dak does bonehead he does it as good as anyone in the league. I mean i remember a pass to witten or the pass that pappy uses in his gif or that pass that slipped out of his hands. Yea he can look pretty dumb but he also can look elite at times

Im ok with moving on Im ok with keeping him im pretty indifferent on the QB. That said we could do worse.
I can't disagree with the overall picture. That is a great stat line and most likely the reason we won. I just think people expect too much from this QB. This is not going to be a HOF QB. But it would be nice if he didn't contribute to losses in big games. He doesn't have to be a superstar, just don't make a bad situation worse.

Dak is nowhere near the QB's you referenced as Dak is not a QB that can overcome mistakes so try as you will to defend him with excuses that is the fact.
I listed undisputable facts. Here are a few more:

There have been 164 quarterbacks in NFL history that have thrown 2000 or more passes. Using the number of game winning drives as a percentage of the games they have played, Dak is ranked #13 overall. He is also ranked in the top quarter (#39) in percentage of games that were 4th quarter comebacks, proving that Dak knows how to come from behind and win better than three quarters of the most prolific passers in NFL history.

In fact, you might recall his very first playoff game as a rookie. He brought the Cowboys back from an 18 point deficit with 35 seconds left on the clock. The Cowboys defense was unable to prevent Rodgers and the Packers from scoring.

I'm not making any excuses, Dak played poorly in that game. However, there was plenty of blame to go around and that one game, even that one season, is no indication of Dak's value to the team now or in the future as you will see very soon.

It's sad but you can already see the problems brewing. When has Tyron finished off a season? Him finishing off a season uninjured will be a miracle. If he goes out, which there is a high probability of, then we will once again be shuffling guys around.

I frankly can't understand why this FO won't go 'all in' for a year. The eagles went all in, won a superbowl, had a couple of down years, went all in again and went to another superbowl. Meanwhile we are stuck in 2nd round land into perpetuity.

cant say I i disagree. I think last years performance was the worst and I think circumstances played a role but if this team is to take the next step Dak has to overcome those circumstances. In 16 he went toe to with rogers but defense didnt help matters much like 14. In 18 I want to say that he wasnt horrible but the rams ran it down our throats.
In 21 he wasnt abrilliant but he was the best Qb on the field and 15 penatlies sealed our fate. Last year was the one year if I were to put the biggest% of blame on the QB it would apply.

On the field, he’s led the Cowboys to back to back 12-5 playoff seasons. It’s the first time since 06 and 07 that the Cowboys made the playoffs in back to back seasons. He also just led the Cowboys to their first road playoff win since their last Super Bowl win in 1995 and he did it against Tom Brady. He already has as many playoff wins as Tony Romo in less years. I’ve been critical of his play, but I’ve been following the Cowboys long enough to know it’s not going to be easy finding a better QB than him. There’s only been two QBs in the history of this franchise lead the Cowboys to a championship. Both those QBs had loaded teams with Hall of Fame head coaches. It’s not all Dak’s fault the Cowboys can’t get over the hump.

In the first loss to San Francisco a couple of years ago our defense sucked. Granted Dak didn’t play well, but it wasn’t just him. Last January he played terrible, but we also couldn’t run the ball worth a damn. The entire game got put on him. Some of you will appreciate Dak when the Cowboys are stuck like a lot of teams, unable to make the playoffs because they have a bad QB situation. You must not have been around during the late 80s and early 2000s when the Cowboys were playing musical chairs at QB with one stiff after another, while sitting home for the playoffs every season. You’ll find out if you ever experience that what it’s like to have an embarrassment at QB
Fascinating.

Your first paragraph, talking about the positive accomplishments of the team, frames those accomplishments as "he (Dak) led" the team to those successes.

Your second paragraph, talking about the failures of the team, gives Dak a mention, but focuses on the reasons other than him.

You can't have it both ways.

You're not the only one that consistently does this. Most of the emotionally driven fanboy types do the same thing.
