Does anybody have faith in this coaching staff?

So is the only way they will use Felix Jones with the first squad in some special packages? I would like to have seen Felix with the first team and be in the shotgun and stuff. You can still have him in the game and go toss right or toss left or screen left or screen right.

I'm sure you will see that but the Cowboys wanted to get Barber ready to go. He is our starting RB

"silverbear" should be named "thinskin". Just settle down, I've been a Cowboys fan since Tony Dorsett's rookie year. Your posts in this forum are generally solid, but don't attack me for having an INFORMED opinion. Wade's track record speaks for itself. If I'm wrong at the end of the year I'll gladly admit it. BTW: I've never placed a bet in my life. Too cheap.

Given the "informed" nature of the opinions I've seen, this is a very good thing for your bank account...

There was nothing at all "informed" about your opinion, you simply expressed the belief that because Wade hasn't won any BIG games to this point, he never will...

And that, my dilettante friend, is beyond asinine... as I said, if that's your opinion, you would clearly have been saying the same thing about Tom Landry going into the 1971 season... he had numerous BIG games by then, and had lost all of 'em...

I believe that Wade made a costly mistake at the end of last season, but one that was not philosophically unsound; I think it was a tactical error to ease off in the Skins game, then give the team the week off... I didn't think so at the time, I agreed with the decision, but in hindsight the team seemed flat in that playoff game...

I rather expect that he won't make that mistake again, if the same situation presents itself... but you assume that he'll do the same thing over and over and over again...

Let me also say that you didn't have to tell me that you're a Johnny Come Lately when it comes to being a Cowboys fan, if you had been there from the start, like I have been, you would have learned your lesson with Landry... the fans were screaming for his head, but ownership was patient, knowing they had a man who knew what he was doing... they knew that in any year, there's a bit of serendipity necessary to win the BIG game...

IOW, newlander, a "track record" is not always, or even often, an accurate predictor of future events... anybody who really knows the game of football understands that... I mean, until Eli Manning won the big one, it was generally held by "experts" like yourself that he didn't have what it takes to win...

During the regular season yea but if he didn't get any snaps with the first team he's not going to get any snaps next week.

I'm sure they have plans to put him in on packages with the 1st unit. Dallas was not going to show teams much during the pre-season. Our guys have been able to get some good work in to get ready for the season including Felix and I think he will find the running a bit easier with the entire 1st unit in the games with him. However what we have ran is our base offense with Barber and Anderson in the backfield.

If by "next week", you mean the day after tomorrow, then there's a lot of the "first team" that won't be getting any snaps...

Just like virtually every other team in the NFL...

I still say we should have sub Felix so he can get a couple of reps with the 1st team. If he is supposed to be such a big part of the O how come he isn't getting any first team reps.

Of course not. However it would make sense for your back up running back to get reps with the 1st team.

Yea what I meant. If they felt as if they shouldn't give him a chance with the 1st team while he they was in the game 3 quarters he wont be getting any in the next one.

I for on never claimed the Cowboys were going to win the Super Bowl the past two seasons. I believed they were too young to get there. They had not played together long enough. I love the coaching improvment I have already seen in pre-season. No football team is perfect and if you are waiting for that, good luck. This season is the first one, baring major injuries that they have a strong chance to get there. Try enjoying what apears to be a very special season for Dallas Cowboys fans.

I will enjoy the season no matter what happens. I rather watch bad footbal than watching good baseball or MAVS BALL. I was one of those fans that if the boys lost..it ruined my whole week(until the played again). I was in a bad mood. Now I have grow up. Now my day is just ruined. I also like the coaching improvments..OL Hudson and Campo DB.

The problem I have is with this team they took a nose dive in Dec for the past couple of years. I believe it takes a hard tough emotional type coach(NOT BILL) that lets his coachs coach(Offense and defense). Bill was to old fashion and not willing to change(example Saints Game). there hasn't been to many easy going coachs that could get there team to the SB and maybe win it. Dick Vermeil and Barry Switzer(Jimmy's team) are the only 2 that come to mind right now.

silverbear needs to get some nooky....man, your a grouch...and your WRONG. I was on here quite a bit saying Manning had the pedigree and ability to win and win big. What has Wade ever won..................yeah, I know, que the crickets......Big difference between a 25 year old QB and Wade "this ain't my first rodeo" Phillips. The guy is hard to take seriously with his approach to the game. Great position coach...above average head coach, but that's it. Don't get all ticked SB, I'm sure you've been wrong before. Even if you don't like to admit it!

PS-we win the Super Bowl with this guy and his "laid back" approach I'll gladly eat crow:but I just don't see it.
