Everyone this is only a thought...i personally really like Randy Gregory...and myself having suffered consequences of addiction and the hard walk to overcome it...i know it can happen...Just wondered what you all thought chances with Randy Gregory might be?

No. I hope he can get help but I think his days of playing in the NFL is over

Likely not.

But if he does play, more power to the guy for coming back.

"the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma."

I haven't read anything about Gregory's use of Pot that he is enslaved by it or that it is psychologically or physically habit-forming. I prob smoke more than he, I live in Oregon where it is legal, and I go weeks without using it at times. Am I addicted? No. Of all the reports I have read about him, he has a mental disorder, not an addiction.
Anybody willing to forgo millions upon millions of dollars and thinks it's a better idea to smoke pot instead is addicted. He can't get away from it. By all accounts, the guy is intelligent. So he knows very well the consequences of continued usage. Yet he keeps smoking anyway. Mental disorder or not, he HAS to have it.

He needs to forget about football as a career and go to a state where pot is legal. If he's lucky, he might have enough money left to open up his own pot shop. Although that's unlikely. Either way, he's better off somewhere on the west coast.

And if reports are true that he's now blowing off NFL officials, he may very well have come up with the same conclusion.

Gregory came in as a rookie needing development and now has missed more games in suspension than he has played. Once 2017 season is over he will have been suspended 34 out of a possible 48 games he could have played. I don't think a young player can miss this kind of time and expect to come in and play

Nope.

I doubt very seriously he makes it all the way to next year without testing positive again.

I'm afraid the odds are against him.

I know it does not look even remotely possible...but deep down i hope Gregory overcomes this and comes back to play for Cowboys

How did you determine he is an addict? Did you ask him or are you a doctor?
I agree I think it is more of an issue of self medicating. He is not smoking to get high, but more to handle situations he cannot deal with like a normal person. What you or I would not give a second thought to permeates his decision making and sometimes causes paralysis in his cognitive abilities. I am going off an article I read about his issues a couple of years ago. By all accounts I think this illness might not be able to be controlled enough for him to play professional football.
