"Y'all know me. Know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this receiver for you, but it ain't gonna be easy. Dumb guy. Not like going down the draft findin' tight ends and running backs. This receiver, smudge your rep. Little drinkin', little druggin', an' down you go. And we gotta do it quick, that'll bring back your fans, put all your businesses on a payin' basis. But it's not gonna be pleasant. I value my neck a lot more than three thousand bucks, chief. I'll find him for three, but I'll catch him, and sign him, for ten. But you've gotta make up your minds. If you want to stay alive for the playoffs, then ante up. If you want to play it cheap, be under .500 the whole winter. I don't want no volunteers, I don't want no mates, there's just too many captains on this forum. Ten million dollars for me by myself. For that you get the size, the speed, the whole damn thing."

Classic dialogue from a classic film. Wade Phillips could use a little bit of Robert Shaw's mentality from that movie.

We have enough weapons on this offense to gain first downs. If we can't then we don't deserve to win. Most teams would kill to have the offensive talent we have.

Two words in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Dez Bryant.

Still think Jerry has an eye on the Matt Jones situation.

I tend to agree. He's going to get a call, just a matter of when.

I believe we have the future WR in Olgetree. An undrafted standout the will make the squad. I have never been a real fan of Crayton, however I can not dispell his growth process. Also, I really believe Felix, Choice, and Bennett will be featured in a passing attack that focus on more screen and flat passes.

Do we sign a WR now or wait until Roy goes down?

Time Stamp this

I was wandering what eveyone thought about our WR and do u think we need another.

Hmmm. This question has never been axed before, so I will make a guess about WR.
I think we need another WR but I don't we will get one.
I trust and probably Jerra too, that RW/Crayfish/Austin/Witten will catch enuff footballs among them and Felix/Barber/Tashard (in that order) will provide enough fireworks from the backfield and short passing routes that makes a WR nonessential.

Still, we need another to step in for the very average Crayfish. Or give the job to Austin.

I think we have to wait and see. It's really up to Garrett and his gameplan for 2009.

he needs to take advantage of the athletes he has at RB and TE and incorporate them into the passing game more.

I believe he does.

But will there be enough rooms at the inn?

It looks as if the plan is to carry three quarterbacks and two kickers on the roster, which means we will likely plan on limiting ourselves to five receivers.

Roy Williams, Miles Austin, Patrick Crayton, Sam Hurd and Isaiah Stanback are projected as the top five.

Ogletree and or any other wideout hoping to make the cut will have to impress to make us go long at the position or see if an injury opens the door.

I'd give Stanback about 10 minutes to prove he belongs and then cut him

I think the plan is to go 'short' on the offensive line, keeping 9 rather than 10.

That would allow the team to carry 6 receivers, which - given the questions at that position with Owen's release - I feel they need to and should.

And I don't think Hurd or Stanback are assured of anything at this point.
