Does Deuce Vaughn Even Make 2025?

A lot of lamenting a 6th round pick.
Yep. And as I have pointed out many times, Deuce was taken at 212.

So consider, Eric Scott was taken at 178, and that is after a trade up. So we used 2 picks to get him.

When was the last time you saw a Eric Scott thread? Exactly.

Yes. And it wasn't an experiment. Please.

It's not Vaughn's fault the Cowboys had bad coaching (especially McCarthy) who had no idea how to use him.

This reminds me of all the threads and posts after the draft last year where people kept saying over and over he wouldn't make the team.
I would like to see Deuce moved around in the offense as a back and slot receiver .Set screens up for him out of the backfield and use him in the slot like Cole Beasley was used, get him out in space and let him create after the catch. He can also run between the tackles and catch short passes out of the back field, the competition will be tougher soon.I am pulling for him.

Every time I find myself shocked at how many people still think Deuce is going to be a good NFL player I think back to the people who still argued that Trysten Hill was going to breakout in year 3 and 4. Just give 'em a chance!!! The coaches only see these guys every single day in practice. Maybe even our crummy coaches just know when a guy stinks...
Dang I forgot about Trysten Hill and now Mazi....we just cant get that position right....Taco.....wow

Yeah, true. Like you said, maybe they didn't use him right last year. I concede that may be the case. My issue is the roster spot. For a RB that doesn't produce much. Or hasn't. Generally, the 3 year rule doesn't have to apply to running backs. They typically catch on quicker than other positions.

Will they be completely unbiased when analyzing Deuce or will they give him the roster spot only to have him, once again, ride the pine even in trash time?

I actually like Deuce.. I just want to ask..will he be here in 2025? If not, would another team pick him up?

:hammer:

To me the RB depth chart will be:

1. Draft Pick
2. Javonte Williams
3. Malik Davis/late pick/UDFA
4. Hunter Luepke (FB)

I think Deuce will need a huge camp and preseason to stick around.

That line of crap again??? Comon' man you know better.
What I posted is a fact! Go dig up his rushing stats the past two seasons and see for yourself. :thumbup:Not sure what you’re looking at if you think I posted a line of crap.

You know exactly what I'm talking about. Throwing Deuce out there like McCarthy did was so ridiculously stupid.

I'm hoping the experiment finally ends. Maybe it was MxCarthy, maybe Deuce just doesn't have the skills to be an NFL back in spite if his height.

Would another team pick him up? Or would we be the only ones to have him on our non-practice squad roster?
Deuce needs to be a receiving threat to be viable.
By eyeball, he looks like a natural receiver to me, and by analysis, he has the attributes to be a terror to cover. Low center of gravity, quickness, agility, acceleration.
He needs to work it and learn it, and then have coaches use it. *If* he can develop it.
Should have tried to stash him on the PS last year. Wasn't worth a roster spot yet.
The signing of Turpin to real money probably means the end of Deuce even as a developmental experiment. Turpin fills that role now. Not as stout, but can go deep.

You quoted the stats I posted and called them a line of crap. Those stats were correct. Deuce has done nothing.

I know the NFL is a lot faster than College but his highlight reels from K-State are pretty awesome. Hard to believe there isn't a way to use him as a serious weapon.

Total speculation on my part... but as good as anyone else's...

When Schotty speaks and hints at some gentlemanly disagreements with his former boss...

Playing Deuce and actually running plays to feature Deuce was among those disagreements they had.

That said... no one knows what the RB room is going to look like come July, obviously, so it's far too much to speculate what Deuce's chances will be this summer in Oxnard.
