How do you know Hamlin's natural position is SS? He's played FS since college.
They should have room to release Roy if they want to, but usually teams do not like unfavorable cap moves even if they have the room. Plus, Jerry has put money into Roy. Like any owner he's going to try to find ways to get Roy to his old ways.

i gotta be honest.. i absolutely love this message board.. there are some fantastic fans on here.. some great knowledgable fans that truly bleed silver and blue.. and i find out the latest and best Cowboys news because of this site.. it's the best site on the internet if you're a Dallas Cowboys fan.. i used to post here all the time, but now i've become just a lurker.. but a lot of the guys and gals who've been around here for more than a year or two will remember me.. that being said, the reason i started posting less and less (besides the heartache of the Giants loss) was because it seems like EVERY single thread turns into a Roy bashing fest.. it's just ridiculous.. no matter what the topic is or what intention the original thread starter had or anything, at some point, it's gonna turn into bashing Roy.. yes, he is my favorite player so it's hard for me to read all the Roy bashing in the first place, but i used to be able to handle it.. but it's just gotten out of control, especially considering the fact that most of it is either untrue, unwarranted, taken out of context or overblown (thanks for keep fighting the good fight, Adam, Hostile, superpunk and a few others).. Roy's a great guy off the field, and a good player for us on the field.. he was elite at one point and i hope he gets back to that place for us, and i believe that Roy hopes for that too.. as it is, he is still an above average player for us that gets so much criticism from the fans and media alike that it's sickening.. the man wears the STAR and he is proud to wear the STAR.. he has given us some fantastic memories in the past.. so he had, by his standards, a down year, maybe a year and a half.. but he's still a heckuva player.. but some of you act like he's a bad person, a lazy person, and a horrible player.. which is so far from the truth it's laughable.. unfortunately, you guys (i know this isn't everyone, by the way) have ruined my love for posting on this site, at least for the time being.. i really look forward to the day, and i am very confident it will be early on this season, when Roy shuts you all up and i can come on here and enjoy posting and talking about my Boys again.. in the meantime, ill be lurking and shaking my head at most of the crap that you Roy bashers spew..

I can't agree with you more about RW. At one point last week, we had a 650 post Defense of Roy Williams Bashing thread alongside a Let's Petition the League to Let Pacman Jones Join Our Team Sooner thread. I'm not a huge fan of Roy, and I was only mostly against the Adam Jones signing, but that's just backwards.
