Does the Cardinals flat out releasing Deandre Hopkins lessen the blow for what we got for Amari?

Isn't it crazy that Cowboys essentially couldn't get much more than a 5th for Amari and Cardinals can't find any takers for Hopkins? Do you guys still fault the front office for not being able to get much for Amari?
To me the Cooks trade validated the Cooper trade this offseason and made me feel better about it. Cooks had had similar production to Cooper. However, perhaps it makes Texans fans feel better about the Hopkins trade.

AZ FO is stupid. Hopkin's value was highest pre draft and they blew it by asking for too much thinking they can get a 2nd or even 1st round pick for him. Now they get nothing and they deserved it.

Their poor management doesn't absolve JJ"s poor management of Amari situation.

When the idiot GM comes out to the media and says they're pretty much getting rid of Cooper, ofcource a team isn't going to offer you anything for him...Jerry is an idiot
Titans came out and said they were getting rid of AJ Brown and he netted a 1st. If Jerry came and said they were getting rid of Micah it wouldn’t matter. They’d knock down his door to get him.

Ahh that’s a good point. Didn’t even think of what we got for Cooks.

Yeah but if someone offered a 1st for Hopkins they would’ve traded him. The problem
Is his marker wasn’t nearly what we or anyone thought it was.

The cards as a terrible team in a rebuild had zero leverage. The cowboys screwed up.

CAP, CAP and CAP.

Amari was traded to relive cap for a team that was in contention.

Arizona said screw it, we stink and will be picking top 3 next year, so just eat the $22 million and be done with it.

When no one was willing to bite then it was time to lower asking price. They over played their cards and now got nothing in return. They wish they gotten a 4th rounder for him.

There was no blow. It was a smart move unloading the contract of a receiver who just lost his job to Lamb. You don't make that guy your #2 after that. lol
This is what people misunderstand about getting rid of Cooper. His replacement was Lamb who caught 107 passes last year. The mistake the Cowboys made was assuming Gallup was healthy enough to step back into the 2 spot and they could find someone else to be the third receiver.

The cardianls came out and say Hopkins will be A cardinal and he's not going anywhere
and then they released him after not being able to get anything for him

so i guess the dumb thing was getting a 5th?

They certainly didn't do enough after the trade but unloading Cooper and the contract was 100% the right move.

also you cant wait till the last year , or late in that year , or even worse after the season, to try and trade him and get value.

Sometimes addition by subtraction is a real.
Yeah we didn’t miss him at all last year….smh
We had Noah brown and a gimpy Gallup.
I’d argue it cost us a few games. We could’ve cut him this off-season just as easily.

Should have gave a 7th and had Arizona eat a lot of that cap hit tbh
