Cowboys should go pick up Farniok from the Bears practice squad and guarantee Farniok a spot on the 53 man roster. That would solve the need for a quality backup proven Center. The roster spot is now available sadly due to Diggs' season ending injury.
Except with the 3 call up rule they would have had to put him on the active roster eventually at some point and yet he still went full bedwetter!

I think we do the we like our guys stance in this case.
We will hafta put our faith further into Quinn's ability to adapt his personnel and scheme.

Lewis just returned and Izzy can be an option too. Scott, the Dolphin guy and Wright are not my ideal depth choices but Quinn should be able to hopefully coach them up to a reasonable level of competence.

With a great passrushing front 7 you can still be okay if you're not all world on the back end.

Can't blame him. Something that might happen if Biadasz can't go and his replacement ends up sharting the bed.

No chance.

RCB - Gilmore
LCB - Bland
Slot - Lewis

Goodwin to the 53. Noah, Scott both become active.

Yes

Bland is a slot corner and Jourdan Lewis was already slow before the foot injury

Nobody asked for your constant had wringing either, yet here we are.
This is a social media website for fans to share their opinions about the Cowboys and other teams, yet you had to make it about health simply because you refuse to accept any dissenting views or concerns.

Still in shock, woke around 3:30 this morning saying “still can’t believe this happened in practice”. Just got on up and went for a 5 mile run.

Let me preface this thread with this: Let us all wish Diggs a speedy recovery and return to the field. I am sure he is absolutely devastated by the realization that he will not get to play in what is shaping up to be a special Cowboys season.

With Diggs out for the season, Dallas is down an All-Pro cornerback on what is likely the league's best defensive unit. Combined with Gilmore, Dallas had a pair of lockdown DBs that made it very difficult for opposing offenses to throw. Without #7, you go from a CB duo that most of the league would envy to just good with Gilmore + Bland + Lewis.

To win anything in this league, you have to good but luck is a major factor. Nearly every team that makes the Superbowl does so on the back of good injury luck. The Cowboys appear to be as good as anyone right now and the NFC is totally wide open outside of SF, Philly, and Dallas. This is likely the best chance that Dallas has had at making to the NFCCG or further in a very long time. Do you jump on this window at the expense of future draft capital, or hope that the roster you have built is deep enough to sustain the loss of one of the NFL's best cornerbacks in Week 2?

My question is this:

Staying put and observing the performance of the defense without Diggs against the Cardinals and Patriots may be the wisest move, but what happens if teams start being able to move the ball on you in the passing game?

If you are the Cowboys front office, does this injury make you think that another big time addition via a trade may be necessary to get you past Philly and SF?
NO NO NOPE....

Fact that TylerB honest also went down in the same practice. But no overreactions are big new moves need to be made because we put the depth on this team to cover that up now we can't afford to lose another one though..

Right but how many players are you talking about that are elite and worth a trade in the middle of a season that will be available and the team's willing to let them go? I say you stand pat for another month and then teams start getting more desperate once they're truly mathematically eliminated and you can get a better deal before the trade deadline whenever that is.. So yes make a move but wait until the very final minute to decide

IMHO, not yet. its initially next man up. lets see how it goes. bland probably moves to the spot and lewis to slot. and maybe rotate others, depending. if it works out and looks good, then we are fine. if its not, then perhaps a trade.

There are too many fans who put way too much credence in the over valuing of the CB position.

We have exactly one player on D who is not replaceable, and that's Parsons. As long as we continue to disrupt the pocket, we are more than fine w/ average CBs.

Y'all are forgetting Igne, the CB from MIA. Wonder what his progress has been in our system?
