Does the Mingo trade say anything about the development of Tolbert?

It says that they got a receiver that can contribute in a variety of ways on a rookie contract.
very good point, cheap option that could end up helping us! If it's cheap, we want it!!!

Tolbert is not worthy of another contract. That much is absolutely clear.
No speed. No quickness. Not an explosive route runner. His impact has been extremely minimal. He cannot get separation. He is not a reliable deep threat. If we scheme him open and the ball is there, he will catch it most of the time, but he has also shown no YAC ability.

Your #1 and #2 should be guys who can beat man coverage and are reliable in reading zone. They don’t both need to be deep threats, but they should both be reliable contributors who bring something special to the offense — a deep threat, explosive route runner, YAC with ball in hands, reliable possession receiver, speed that the defense respects, something.

#3 in today’s game should also be a very good player. A guy who can beat the #3 CB and expose safeties, move the chains, abuse defenses for pay8ng too much attention to #1 and #2.

#4 and #5 should be developmental players who provide something when they give guys a break, maybe as simple as being good blockers or having great hands.

What we have is a top #1 who is a threat with the ball in his hands, but isn’t a speed guy and sometimes struggles with double coverage. After him, we basically have guys without any special skills outside of Turpin speed and quickness. Cooks would be much more effective at this point of his career in the slot, using his knowledge to beat #3 CBs.
This was all in his scouting report.

Sure. That Tolbert lacks the ability to create separation. It was in his scouting report. Coogleymoogley, it was your job to get Jerry a copy. Were you frolicking w/ butterflies again instead of catering to Jerry?
It seems like the more it's said, the happier we get to get guys like this, someone isn't properly evaluating this position

Neither are anything special to this point. Been saying all off-season I didn't like Tolbert. A good effort guy but not enough talent to cut it at this level. If you're going to trade for Mingo, give the guy more targets and see what you got.

Anything with good value helps. We will see if they sign T. Higgins, a linebacker, and an offensive lineman. Using the cap space that they are generating for 2025.

please don't sign Higgins!!! I can see us just signing guys just to get guys to say we spent money, that's not good at all!!!!!

I doubt they even entertain paying what Higgins would cost, but he would be exactly what this offense needs next year. A perfect complement to Lamb.

Ya think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reggie Robinson, Eric Scott, same thing. Lack of lateral agility. I seriously doubt if Jerry even knows what that is, or how it impacts a player's success in the NFL. It's the biggest factor for failure of draftees in the NFL. Not sure there's a close 2nd.

can we find that in the draft???
Possibly, but this team can't possibly fill all their holes though 1 draft either. I could see DT, DE, S, RB and OL all as round 1 options as well as WR. I doubt they have Tee Higgins money available to them, but it would be very nice to actually see some needs addressed before we get to the draft for once.

No it says Jerry is just looking for cheap options, etc. That's it.

He accumulate players he likes. There is no plan here. Mingo says nothing about Tolbert.

Well, that's just not true but whatever.
Ooooo, IDK, I think there's a ton of truth to it. The trading thing definitely, but I think they're also bad at drafting. If you think about it, Lamb fell to us. Martin was the consolation prize, not who we wanted. Diggs fell to the 2nd because he's not great at coverage, and unfortunately that's starting to rear it's ugly head.

I do like this last draft, to be seen. However, our last good draft before this one was what, 2014? Yeah, we've had a few good players in there, but overall we keep losing due to the inability to get what we need to win playoff games.

Don't forget Nashon Wright!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jerry must be a real simpleton concerning NFL football, he falls for the most inane, dumbest ruses.

The sad fact is that I truly believes Jerry puts way (way way) too much emphasis on where a player was drafted. Think about it, we just gave up two 4ths for busts. Why? Well they were drafted high. What other reason could there even be?
