This is the best mgmt move Jerry has made since he hired Parcells.

He is staring at a 1 year shot then a rebuild. He knows that.
He has been trying to compete without committing future resources for a decade and it didn't work.
Last year he tried to use some resources to edge ahead of the Eagles coming off a SB and that actually worked.

This year is he is admitting he has 1 shot.
There is a real urgency which frankly the team has needed for a decade.
This means 1 last ride with this group: Mike, Dak, Quinn. DLaw, Zack, Tyron IMO.
I interpret it the same way. They may make a splash in free agency for some players on a 1 year deal to try and win it all, before rebuilding.

Jerry is reported as saying they are going all in. It terrifies me to think of them resigning Dak and then immediately putting the team in cap hell for the next 5 years.

Dlaw won’t be better, Z Martin won’t be better, I’m kinda scared Micah’s body is already starting to wear down. Your year was this year, not next year.

If they want to go all in, do a soft rebuild under the guise of all in. Go get Tee Higgins or younger guys on longer deals and don’t resign Dak, just restructure him. Let him prove it out and be hungry for the contract. If he fails miserably again, you’ll have solid, young FA players and won’t be carrying all that qb $.

‘All in’ with a QB making insane $ is just foolish
I am concerned his "All In" includes resigning Dak and then signing Micah to one of the largest deals for a defensive player.

Micah should be traded for draft picks. He is always going to be an off the field problem with his mouth. If you are having these issues with him and his family at 12-5, imagine what they will be at 5-12 when he is taking a significant % of the salary cap and continues to disappear during important games and at the end of each season.

Not worth it and would be another classic cowboy move to make him one of the highest paid at his position just to sell more jerseys.

Jerry is doing damage control. he has said that in different words in other years. that's what jerry does. its his way of generating hope, keeping the fans interested and keeping the dollars coming in.

its total bullshiet by Jerry. I don't buy it.

I want to believe it because I’m a Cowboys fan but year after year after year and 28 years later I’m still hoping for the same thing so I will just say this in my opinion what he does in free agency will show me how serious he is about going all in

If Dak doesn't want to except a very modest contract then we need to let him go and bite the bullet. This team needs help in multiple positions starting with the offensive and defensive lines. The focus need to go back in the trenches. You can damn near win games with anyone at other positions if you're solid in the trenches on both sides of the ball.
who in FA is going to help this team to win? people keep talking contract. last year Dak had a lower cap hit than Jackson. baltimore built a team and played in CCG. we had 10M on the cap last year. could have had more. we chose not to sign anyone. last year we had 20M on the cap. didn't sign anyone. you can't build a team through FA. it doesn't work. you get the old, injured, diminished or super expensive players. the core has to be there for a team to be able to sign a FA to round out the team. our core sucks. we need LBs (plural), saftey, DTs, OLmen, RB, WR and too many needs too many places to be able to fill it with FA.

this is all on Jerry. the team he built.

I wonder who he's planning on targeting. We'll know within the first couple of days of free agency just how serious he is about going all in. If he's on the yacht again, deuces. His way is broken. Not hiring one of the top coaches on the market this year, with this team, was the dumbest thing he's done as the owner of the Cowboys, outside of letting Jimmy go.
he will make one big FA move. and everyone will rejoice. dollars roll in. Jerry is happy. that's what Jerry does

I will repeat what I said in another thread imagine watching the play off performance last year and thinking to yourself we need to mortgage the future to keep this thing going.

Nope, not at all. Have heard it all before and know it's just more carnival barker BS to keep fans thinking he cares more about football than money.

No. Its just sounds like language used to trick fans into maintaining their interest

Would a couple of high priced FAs last year have kept the defense from quitting again the Packers? Or Dak from throwing a brain dead pick six that would embarrass mostmiddle school QBs?

Their usual offseason is even scarier. Can’t keep pretending you’re on the right path when you’re not even close. I used to care about the salary cap, but their inability to go anywhere and the complete lack of results have been a joke. 3 12 win seasons.. it’s really now or never. What are they waiting on?

Some of you need to listen to exactly what he said instead of reading snips of comments that are tweeted and posted here. He said they’re always all in.
No, nobody needs to listen to Jerry. Jerry needs to show us.

Don't believe any of it. Jerry is in Cool-Aid salesman mode.

Honestly, it doesn't faze me at all. Jerry talks a lot.
And practically says very little whenever he does. The guy can stretch a five-minute interview into a 25-minute mini-marathon saying the same things over and over.

It scares me because I know this will end up blowing up in his face and we will be even further away from contending.

And the Championship drought continues, and I am not talking about winning the Super Bowl, I am just talking about making it to a NFC Championship game.

I’ll believe when actions happen - what is Jerry’s all in vs fans expectations of all in are always totally different
Jerry loves to spew and bloviate hyperbole to sell the brand - that’s all he is doing yet again
It’s like most fist fights
Two people talking stuff
Saying they’re tough
Saying they are going to kick the other ones butt
A bit of shoving
But that’s it -
Jerry just trying yet again with his dimwit offspring
saying “ we’re serious - this time we mean it “
All talk
Prove us wrong Jerry - I dare you - I double dog dare you

On a different note - all in without results - is more of the same in playoff time
Didnt eagles go all in according to some ?
But we will see
