The Answer agrees.....we need to be looking at NFL CALIBUR offensive linemen, not casts offs from the CFL or other minor leagues.

You'd think that the front office would realize this since we have had shoddy offensive line play for several years now, add to the fact that Bledsoe isn't the most mobile guy either obviously.

Who is out that you expect us to sign? Also keep in mind salary cap implications for getting a top notch OL when they were available. At not many were available. Bentley WANTED to go to Cleveland. We signed Fabini and Kosier. And right now unless someone is released, there is not much out there. So he will be a broken down OLD player, or a FA or CFL player.

It doesn't hurt anything at this point to bring in a guy to have a look.

Man, oh man. I just read the blurb in DC.com where the 'Boys just signed D'Anthony Batiste, a 6-4, 318 lb. OG out of Loiusiana-Lafayette. Actually, he played there a little while back. The last place he was employed was with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian League. He signed with them in May, but was recently cut.

Excuse me? We just signed an OG to possibly play for our National Football League Dallas Cowboys sometime in the future? I mean, isn't that why you sign a player-to play for you? Either that, or for TC fodder. Either way, is there no one out there who we can sign to give our defensive line a better challenge than an OG that played in the Arena league, but couldn't even get a cup of coffee in the CFL?

Man, it's about time that this team realizes that it needs a real personnel director to bring in the talent. Butch Davis tried his hand at it in Cleveland, & was a miserable failure. So is BP when it comes to certain positions like offensive linemen. JJ is no better.
The Browns finally wised up and hired Phil Savage to take over their personnel matters. That's all he does. Scouts players and signs the ones he feels are the best. In only two years, he has transformed the Brown's offensive line from one that was hideous, to one with the likes of LeCharles Bentley, Kevin Shaffer, Joe Andruzzi, Cosey Coleman, and Ryan Tucker. They're not quite there yet, but are light years away from the pitiful unit that nearly got Tim Couch killed.

Wake up, JJ. Time to move over & let a real personnel man do the job.

You may have a point... the OL was the main reason this team didnt make the PLAYOFFS I would think we would have everybody we need on the OL bought and paid for already!!! People say he is a "CAMP" body but with a few injuries he could make the team!!!

in light of MATT LEHR success and the LARGE amounts of money the Boys have wasted at OG combined with plenty of HIGH draft pix not living up to potential... this team may NOT be able to put together a line!!!
