I will believe it when I see it.Lol. We hear this every year. My middle name is Missouri so, yeah.
Fool me once shame on you.
Fool me 29 times, shame on me.

That's how I roll. I'm not a but Guyton guy. He has to tools, but there's a reason he hasn't put it together other than age. That said, I want him to do well more than I want to be right. Same for my overall opinion of Schottenheimer, I'd rather be wrong than right.I give my negative feed back. You just choose to ignore it.
You and your cronies.
I say a lot of things of substance. Like talking real football. Not hating everything.
He will be fine. We knew when he was drafted it would be a rough rookie season for him. For some reason a lot of folks seem to have forgot about all that.I'm not a but Guyton guy. He has to tools, but there's a reason he hasn't put it together other than age.
LOL, This happens every year. NO it's not different. This is just the normal hype that happens before the season starts. Dak says he feels the best he has ever been. Jerry makes a couple of moves, sells some snake oil, and the Boys are Back!!!! By the end of the season it will be back to reality. Rinse and Repeat.I for one, was not going to get too excited about the upcoming season bc I've been let down so often as we all have. That being said... does this off season seem different... like there is an actual plan? Was Shotty the right pick for HC? Will Klayton Adams really have us moving the ball on the ground... will we set up every play to look the same so the run and the pass keep the defenses honest. Did we really draft a 1-2 punch at RB? Will George P and CD rip up defenses. Have we done enough on the D side of the ball to at least put us in the top half of league and will our O be able to up points as we hope they will?
Yes, more hopeless than ever!I for one, was not going to get too excited about the upcoming season bc I've been let down so often as we all have. 2 months till PS, 3 months till season starts ~!It feels different in many ways, but I don't think a lot of us are a ready to anoint anything until we see results!! Damn all the talking and hopeism, let's see results, blocking, tackling, effort, physicality
That is about how I see it, we just have to see what happens in PS games, and then reg season games.Yes, it feels like they've finally aggressively built a team, especially in the context of what they usually do. That said, alot still has to go right. Their picks need to pan out. Blue needs to be a stud. Guyton and Steele need to turn it around and play well (to me our OT play may be the biggest factor in this season being good or not between being able to run and Dak not getting shook by pressure). DTs and LBs need to stop the run. Diggs and Overshown need to come back healthy. Pickens and Lamb need to gel. Our QB needs to step up and play well in big games and return to form in general because he was off all of last year before he got hurt. Schottenheimer needs to show he can lead this team.
Alot needs to happen, but yes, it feels like there's a small glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, especially compared to the hopelessness we all felt going into last year. But, as always we just have to wait and see before getting our hopes up. I do like that we start with a tough schedule. We'll either come out firing or get shaken out of apathy early enough to do something about it.
It's for sure different. The people that cover the team for sure see and feel it.I for one, was not going to get too excited about the upcoming season bc I've been let down so often as we all have. The losers pick in the top 10 of the draft. The Cowboys are losers, until further notice, period.
Dont let yourself get fooled by our FA activities.I for one, was not going to get too excited about the upcoming season bc I've been let down so often as we all have. It is definitely a thread question that should be revisited following the Eagles game. Afterwards, optimists and pessimists alike will have witnessed an example of what players and coaches can actually do as a team. Not anything set in stone yet but what this 2025 team may be capable of.My question back to the OP question:
How can a year feel different before it is even started? The start of the actual season and games that will measure this team is 3.5 months away.
Ok, I get it, we are in the first phase of a season known as the off-season. And yes it has been a pretty good off-season overall so far. (I would add that last year’s off-season was unbelievably bad, even a half baked one would seem “great” in comparison) So ok - off-season has been pretty good.
For me, nothing feels “different” until it is different. In other words, let’s see what happens when the games matter.
