Potentially play for the vet minimum or something considerably low for his talent?

I could see a cheaper contract and him going all in on just getting a ring(s) and not capping out his new team.

anything is possible ,if he wants to go to a contender then he might have to take a paycut.

Depends on tne setup.

A real Super Bowl contender? Hell take way less than otherwise

I was just reading about Tony and possible Broncos but that they already have a good plan for their money and using a ton of it for their defense.

A well-run organisation trade's Romo for the absolute most in return...this is a business, did Romo refund the 40 or so million he's been paid the last 2 years to sit on the sideline injured...NO! Get the best value for him...

Yep. But that's not happening. Jerry won't want to insult him so I'm sure we will relaease him and we won't get squat in return for a stud player. Just like Ware.

Yeah. I just dont see him there.
Its really a tough situation for Tony.

No idea where he'll end up

So are we assuming we trade him?

If so..only a team with cap space is even possible.

If we have to take the contract hit..

I say we keep him another year and let him backup.

I don't see the team taking a big hit on this.

If he doesn't want to play here..Let him not report to camp or retire.

Jerry might look like an idiot, but he is not. I don't think he sends him To a SB contender for nothing. We are trying to win SB's, why help someone else do it. Imagine if he trades or lets him walk to Denver or Houston and they beat us next year. He will never live that down. He'll talk him into retiring a Cowboy.

We don't know if Tony has a no trade clause or not, it's possible that he does. Not only that but the whole world knows we are going to be starting Prescott at this point. Not economically viable that we pay Tony 19.5 million in base salary to be a backup.

We may very well get nothing but cap space, but that's the cost of giving up all your leverage.

Had we started Romo when he came back from injury we would be in a better negotiating position, but we also would not know as much about Prescott.

I was initially hopeful that we would be able to get some significant assets back, but at this point I think we would be lucky to get a mid round pick.
