Does Tony pick his new team and play for vet minimum?

Shouldn't be a cap issue. First of all a QB as goo as Romo when healthy...you almost can't pay those guys enough. Having said that a team that trades for Romo will only be on the hook for his 14M base salary. They probably work out an extension for say 3 years and in that process that cap hit can be negotiated down if need be. But 14M for a QB is a pittance these days.

I was primarily thinking of the Texans and their stupid Osweiler overcommitment there. But you're right that done is very goo and is also a really goo value right now at this stage of his deal. Goo luck beating that contract on the open market.

Potentially play for the vet minimum or something considerably low for his talent?

I could see a cheaper contract and him going all in on just getting a ring(s) and not capping out his new team.

I think whom ever signs Romo will still end up paying for his service. I would expect much of it will come in incentive clauses but I think he will still have the potential to make big money.

why the heck would he put his body at risk and give away his ultra valuable talents for nothing?

who does that?????

Goo post!:).

Does tony play for the Vet Minimum. Let me think....NO! He is a very wealthy man and certainly too bright to even consider such an idea. Why on earth would he.

I'm sure he asked Elway about his salary when they were kicking it:
