I remember when Troy was first beginning to excel, they interviewed Staubach and he was very gracious. He said he was jealous of Troy because he was a better qb, paid more and better looking than him.:laugh2:

He got strong endorsements yesterday from two important precincts: Cowboys Hall of Fame quarterbacks Troy Aikman, who won three Super Bowls, and Roger Staubach, who won two. They believe Romo can keep this going. And not just this year. "For those out there being cynical and waiting for the wheels to fall off, I think they'll be waiting for awhile," Aikman said from Dallas. "This guy is pretty good. Bill thinks this kid is the real deal. I do, too. I think he can be here for a long time. He's a really good player."

Does that sound like someone resenting the other? Doesn't sound that way to me. :)

Wow, I got the exact opposite impression.

To me, Troy was gushing left and right over Romo -- all game. He sounded PROUD to have Romo associated with him.

That's exactly the way I see it.

He is kind of like, .. proud in way like Romo is his little brother.

Besides, it took 11 QB's and 5 yrs to replace him, if he did have an ego about being replaced, he is over it by now.

It will take Romo a looooonng time to accomplish what Aikman did in Dallas, if he ever can.

I think Aikman is handling Romo's success very well.

My "inside sources" tell me that Troy has a voodoo doll of Tony Romo and sticks pins in it every chance he can.

Now as scary as that is, it seems Joe Buck has a Tony Romo doll of a different nature.

Sounds okay with it to me.

This should end this idiotic thread.

To far removed from his playing days. I could see that 1,2 maybe 3 years out. Not now. He's moved beyond the mindset of an active player.
From what I've heard him say, he sounds like an enthusiastic fan.
Much like Staubach was for him in the early nineties. No jealousy at all, just pride that a great QB was leading Dallas back to where they belong.

I thought Romo was #9 QB like his Jersey number?

Of course he is jealous, who wouldn't want to sleep with "Jessica Simpson"---DUHHHH. What an ignorant statement. I am jealous of ROMA, ROMO, HOMO because he is dating a "RICH" dumb blonde, thats every man's dream. Its OK Troy, Its not a reason to hate a **'er, But I understand.

Troy has had his share of hot country singers...

and BTW, Staubach thought Troy Aikman was the best quarterback in the game when Troy was playing.. I think they are business partners as well...

Troy, while still disgrunteld over being cut, obviously doesn't resent Romo. i think he has been frustrated not only being cut, but being cut for JAGs like cunningham, banks, quincy, etc. he's no doubt thrilled the 'boys FINALLY found a QB. i mean, did you see the look of disgust on his face - sitting with JJ - at the induction game when drew was playing.

Old Roy Aikman can call him whatever he wants.
Troy was once a great QB. Now he is a fat announcer who clearly doesn't like all the gushing over Romo.
The world goes on.;)

Aikman has problems, he is in the closet for one thing. For another he seems to resent the entire Cowboys from and organizational stand point. He always gave the credit to Jimmy and Norv, not Jerry.

OK, #9, ... was that all you got from my post ? I hope you still got my point.

I heard Madden say, "Dallas has had 11 QB's since Aikman, and when you have had 11, you don't have any."

Maybe it is 9, I didn't look it up or anything.
