Does Zeke have any shot at the Hall of Fame?

Except Chubb still trails Elliott by 2000+ yards rushing and 3500+ yards from scrimmage for their careers and they are the same age. By the end of their careers, they will probably have very similar totals.

"Age" isn't the factor here, it's tread. Chubb does more on less carries - He's had a single season of 250+ carries. He currently has 149 carries for nearly 1,000 yards and 10 TDs. Averaging 5.6 YPC.

Zeke is playing like he's 30. Chubb is playing like a 24-26 year old RB.

Right now? No way!

Give him a couple of big playoff runs where he discovers the fountain of youth in the postseason, maybe. But RBs seldom get better.

Maybe not in gaining yards with the ball under their arms but great ones get better at other things and don't fall completely off the map totin the rock. For all the whining people do about Zeke he has topped 4 ypc each of the last three seasons which is legit given the type of totes he gets.. Sprinkle in all the other things he does for the team and you could argue that he's a better football player than he was when he was leading the league in rushing.. but not as good a runner..

At one time, I thought it would be a distinct possibility. Not so much now.
This is a laughable discussion, thanks for making the bye week more fun.
Zeke and HOF don't belong in the same zip code, he had one good year. One year where I could say he is the best rb in the league.

Not without a Superbowl . Probably too late now. Ask yourself, what has Zeke done to warrant a HOF nod?

Can you be any more of a homer? Running Back's first job is being a good runner, then blocking and pass catching.
Zeke should have been cut last year, the RB position is a replaceable position.
Pollard this year, Jeff Wilson, Raheem Moestert the next year.

Now. By the time Chubb actually catches up to Elliott in career totals, which will take 2 or 3 years maybe a little more, that age will definitely matter. I think their career totals will be very similar when it is all said and done.

A few people have already pointed out how quickly a running back can lose it. Age plays a factor in that.

So in 2023 you envision Dallas without Elliott(27 years) and Pollard(25 years old)? If that is the case, the duo of Wilson(26 years old) and Mostert(30 years old) will be a definite downgrade.

You clearly have not been watching modern NFL football much. A runner has to be VERY special to get on the field to even get the rock if he cannot block and catch the ball. Soup lines are full of guys who can carry the ball, to play in the NFL you have to do more.. or you have a 5 minute career.

Tellya what.. go ahead and list the starting backs in the league who JUST tote the rock and never get asked to block or catch it the ball.

I'll wait..

The only thing i know is the team can save 14 million on the cap by cutting Zeke post June 1st.
I would love to keep Pollard but don't overpay.

There is a difference - Zeke had maybe 2 seasons in the league where he was a top 3 RB. Chubb, however, is going on 4 seasons of top 3 RB play - if he keeps up his current pace, when he matches Zeke in similar yards, that would be around 6 seasons of top 3 RB play.

What is working against Chubb is that he was grossly overlooked the past couple seasons with how he played - even with his 1,400+ rushing yard season. I think his play is currently being reevaluated, but when HOF talk comes around, I'm not sure if context will be brought into the discussion about his missing all-pros.

This bag of hot air continues to think Zeke is the only RB that’s asked to carry the ball on short yardage situations.

Why make such a declaration? If Kellen Moore has truly seen the light Dak could run off a 3-5 year streak of very efficient play as part of a team making annual deep playoff runs with this defense. Not one of the other guys on this list has a defense as strong as Dallas.. maybe Buffalo but I don't think so.. and not one of them has as good of a running game to complement what he does in the passing game.

Dak is in year 7 at a position that is now routinely a 15 year career position in the modern game. He should continue to get incrementally better each year unless his body starts to fall apart like Romo. The only way Dak doesn't play another 10 years is he gets hurt too much or he just starts to outright suck.

I'm not saying Dak has done enough to be worthy of Hall consideration.. I'm just saying he's still in the first half of his career... and realistically the second half should be the better half just from a numbers standpoint. He's also in good position coaching wise because if McCarthy is retained it will be because he is doing great work and if McCarthy is canned he will be replaced by either Quinn or Payton. Either one should keep the Cowboys playing good football and thus Dak's profile very high.
Trust me, it would be great if they made it in, but we know the HOF hates on the Cowboys. Look how long it took Drew to get in. The man has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.
