Staubach had a better arm...and in spite of his scrambling ability, I will always remember the way he stood in the pocket...

Romo has a quicker release.

He only reminds me of favre in that he has some elusiveness and he gambles sometimes... he has a wet shoelace for an arm though compared to favre

do not kid yourself....i like romo's ability but to a 50 yr old who is a huge staubach fan, it aint even close. staubach would have taken off running
on at least 2 of those plays where tony scarmbled a little.
not knocking romo at all!!! but not staubach either.

...........Gotta also compare the athletism of the the Defenders in the 70's vrs. Present..........Still somewhat in Butkis era.....and as premire LB, had no where near the mobility that defenders of our present era have.........

If Romo were to be placed in that era, amongst those athelets, I tend to think he would at least appear to be much more of a scrambler, and very possible the BP would then encourage it more..........Recollect Landy very much Discourages Rogers running

Romo has a lot of great qualities. It's easy to "see" a number of really good/great players in him.

Hopefully, this success continues. So far, he's been great. Not that he IS great, mind you, but that for three games, he has been IMO.

Wasn't around to watch Staubach, but he reminds me alittle of Steve Young.
I aggree. He looks more like Young than Staubach. Roger did not have a real quick release. If anything he reminds me of a young Kenny Stabler.

I do think teams are going to think twice befire blitzing him. He beat every blitz the cardinals sent at him.

He doesn't remind me of ESPN's Tony:

I know this might be sacriledge to say, but: to you 30+ year old zoners out there, is it me or does Romo remind you of Staubach? I know it's quite early to make the comparison, but I swear if you made the footage a bit more grainy and put a #12 on his back, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Just my opinion but curious to hear from the rest of you.

Funny. During the game I turned to my friend and said, doesn't his play remind you of Staubach?

I agree with this.

Staubach and Romo do alot of the same things but looked very different in my opinion.

I think something that is being overlooked with Romo is his ability to read defenses. Romo is very quick in his reads and that is what is so encouraging to me.

This guy can be even better with more experience. No telling how good he can be.

He reminds me of Steve Young more than anything, without the bad haircut and the wearing of pajamas under his jersey

He reminds me more of Quincy.

Completes the short passes well and is not very accurate in the long passes.

I saw this and am not sure if anyone else responded like wise but...

are you kidding? Romo is pretty dang precise on his long balls. Quincy would normally through them up and get lucky when one of his speedy recievers ran under them. Romo seems to nail his recievers on every long ball he throughs, the question now is will his recievers catch them. So...I disagree.

I'm probably as big a Staubach fan as anyone and although Romo does have some of Staubach's intangibles, Romo's style of play is almost identical to Favre, imo. I don't think he's got Favre's sheer arm strength, but he seems to have everything else and I love the kid's personality, which is a lot like a young Favre, (moreso than Staubach, who was very serious on the field).

I gotta feeling Romo may become Madden's next favorite QB in the line of Favre and Brady..."Walks in, sinks the 8 ball and walks out with the $$".

He's probably more Don Meredith. And Romo will probably drive Parcells as crazy as Meredith drove Landry.

That's a good comparison as far as his personality goes.

Meredith was a great teammate and everybody rallied behind him.

Well this is the beginning of the end for ya.

You agree with me.

Gloom and doom...and an occasional really annoying PM from Winicki await you.

What I like, Juke, is that he's gotten better with each start.

After that Carolina game, many said, "Yeah, but can he do it again?" He's not only done it again but he's gotten better with each try.
