Doing absolutely nothing

How do you know what they are doing at this point?
Reply to the guy but saying they're doing nothing they are they've been trying to make adjustments there are different players that played on that defense We we started with bringing in Clowny now they're trying to get more snaps to different players They've you know played around with the depth charts they said they're gonna do that even more the one thing that isn't being done is playing more man defense with a 5 man down line most of the game that needs to be done probably much more than three times in in in three quarters because that's what they did.

Oh frustrating because when you look at the second half of the Eagles game the Jets game the Washington game they literally play a lot more man and a lot more pressure fronts brought more people in the box and it looked better it was not perfect but then they go back to running 75% cover three with a four man down lineman and hardly any blitzing...

Is the problem this they're not doing nothing but Matt is just stubborn and doesn't want to do anything but run most of his regular defenses and that's it he's telling Jerry he don't care he don't believe he'll fire him and if he gets fired he don't care...

I'd say they're doing things they've elevated some guys they've deactivated others they've shuffled around the defensive backs and playing more young guys in the secondary and online backers so they're doing things but there's no way you go out and make a big move for one player that this is not a big move 1 player away type defense and that would be a waste of resources....

Being second in a bad division is not saying much... When you have a losing record and your three games behind the Super Bowl champions or whatever it is probably more than that There's barely a mathematical chance you make the playoffs in the second wild card or you have to win your division It's not looking great but it's definitely not where you make a move a big move and waste resources....

I don’t want to see mediocre moves just to appease the fan base or to try and salvage the season. If Jerry wants to use those extra picks for a stud that is signed for a few years…..do it. Dallas needs some bonafide talent, not average bodies. Get a DT, MLB and a safety and that solves half the problem.

This offense can’t sit around for a three-year defensive rebuild. Bring players in now and free agency, draft what was missed and shoot for 2026. Those low Packers picks probably won’t find a day one starter that is good.
Why not mediocre moves I'm not talking about using draft picks but what if they brought in three free agents off the trash heap that might be able to help I mean if we're mathematically in it a guy like say just off the top of my head Kendricks the safety in Simmons maybe Gilmore These are positions of need or somebody else or you can pillage somebody else's practice squad if you know there's a good nose tackle that does nothing but stop the run maybe you go do that these are mediocre moves and then you can make one average move with say a 3rd or 4th round pick and bring over one of those linebackers like Logan from Cincinnati if they did this together culminated with the four guys coming back from injury maybe that does get you on track.

I do agree we know we don't need one of those mingo moves that was bad from the beginning that was even bad if you just used a 7 round pick you didn't need to make that move at all it made no sense the player didn't make sense the compensation didn't make sense but some of that above a Little Mix of all three of those things we still are mathematically in it by a long ways if you think you can take over the division if you win the next two games and then now you're in the game healthy with a different set of players at least a small group changed out playing decently by the time you meet the Eagles and now you have a shot at maybe tying the division

why wouldn't you want to do that?

I agree we're not one big trade away you cannot use those big resources to bring over anyone 'cause I don't care if it was Parsons or Miles Garrett it already showed Miles Garrett had five sacks in the game and they still got blown out we are not one player away on defense but if you can make multiple small moves something could help us salvage part of this season..

And remember this none of those moves would be any guaranteed contracts when you make moves this time of year to bring over free agents or you pillage somebody's practice squad you can cut them with no recourse you would owe them any money any contracts anything when you make moves like that they are not going to be progress stoppers because if it doesn't work then four games left in the season you purge everyone that you can cut you cut them and you let all the young guys finish the rest of the season out..

This season is over.

Prey for 5 wins and a top 10 pick.

You are better off spending the rest of your Sundays watching whomever is playing GB.
I agree in principle. Ill watch until it makes me furious then I usually turn to chores and projects. My wife loves football season. Being a Cowboys fan helps me to get a lot done.

I’m all in for your suggestions but isn’t that considered tanking?
Tanking implies trying not to win - i am not suggesting that, I am suggesting using the pieces that they have to improve the position going into 2026. IF they put in younger guys and they ended up playing better than some of the edge starters, and they won a few extra games then it would be what it is...just a worse draft pick

I would like to see them consider moving players that have trade value that are not core players - I would put pickens on that list IF they could get a 2nd or better and anyone not on the Oline or a building piece for the Dline (EZE).

At this point, i do not see how this team could be a contender this year simply due to the defense and there is no way for them to "fix" it at this point without substanitally hindering the future.

From now until the trade deadline i will live in fear of Jerry making a move because it is guaranteed to be a stupid one

The funniest thing is we literally have one healthy safety right now, in Marquese Bell. If we played tomorrow, only one safety could play. For a secondary that gives up 40 pts and 1000 yards a game.

They're not only doing nothing to improve the team, they're not even doing the bare minimum to field a full roster on gaemday

What message is being sent to the fans, the team, and the NFL when a team that is currently second in the division, has a pretty potent offense doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to try and improve a HISTORICALLY BAD defense? Why should anyone even watch this clown show? It’s mind boggling. Zero accountability.
Just do you and don’t watch. It’s apparently got you highly triggered. Not healthy.

The best thing to do right now is anything that will set them up for future success.

This means
- not trading any draft picks
- exploring trading any player not considered to true core player
- giving younger guys a chance to play
- not having anyone play through injures that could linger or effect playing time next year

Im not saying tank bc they wont do that, but get the team to extract as much value out of this year as possible bc they are toast competition wise
-Put anyone on the trade block that won't be here in 2-3 seasons.

There is nothing they can do and Jerry knows it. This defense isn't 1 or even 2 players away from being good. It is a total disaster personnel-wise. But, the problem is no matter what they do it is Jerry doing it. That means it is hopeless.
