Assuming nothing has changed in his ability or health, I would love to have him back as the #4 receiver. Unfortunately his paycheck is pretty hefty for a #4 receiver, and that can't be ignored.
Just need the Dolphins to take the guaranteed amount for 2023 and the contract would be fine.

Honest question because I never even see a mention of him, so it seems maybe I am: Am I the only one that saw value in what TY Hilton brought to the team?

I suspect he is looking at a vet minimum deal at this point. Would be a perfect #4 IMO. Well, not perfect because that would mean none of our 4 WRs would run down on kickoffs/punts and Brown left a hole there, but ignoring that he would be a great guy to bring back for one more year in a somewhat limited role. Ideally we wait a few months and see if we have any young guys between the ones already on the team and ones we may acquire via draft or UDFA this year that can fill the spot and if not bring in a cheap vet like him

as much as I like him, any team that trades for him is dumb. They will likely eat his deal and cut him. Just wait, then sign him cheap.

I really liked TY. Very skilled route runner. Disciplined guy who brought a professional attitude to the WR room. He seemed very capable of embarrassing an opponents #2 and #3 CBs. I would bring him back on a vet deal in a heartbeat.

No thanks. He was not all that great when he was here, not as many thought he was.
Can get better players in the draft at this point.
I’m of the thinking that he was “better“ than some here thought as well.

i though he and Dak had very good chemistry and I remember him catching passes that moved the chains with the limited times he was targeted

no way that he’s worth that contract but would love to see him here as a #3-#4 receiver and to add depth in case of injury.

I want him back as a #3 because Gallup is a #5 at best....he is toast!

I'm not at all ready to say that about Gallup. He was just coming back off surgery last year. Let's see how he looks this year.

Gallup is definitely overrated, his success came because of Lamb and Cooper and you can even add Sholtz to that, believe he has a pretty bad target to catch rate his whole career, he has never been a great separator and was awful at doing it last year facing better talent.

Let him get released. Depending on injuries in camp and draft we could use someone Dak is familiar with.
I was hoping they'd cut him and we'd get another crack at Cedric, but that was before I saw his contract details. So little of his salary *isn't* guaranteed this year that they'll just keep him if they can't get a trade.

Only 2mil of his salary *isn't* guaranteed.

For 2mil extra, they'll just keep him. The 5mil guaranteed is sunk cost.

This is dumb. Gallup was recovering from knee surgery in 2021 and then had to have his knee and ankle scoped this offseason and it wasn't the same leg. Dude shouldn't have been out there.
