Todd Lowber-WR- Dolphins Jun. 1 - 5:08 pm et

Dolphins waived WR Todd Lowber.

Lowber has bounced around since getting a 2007 Super Bowl ring on the Giants' practice squad. He is an excellent athlete, but lacks football polish.

If he could understand the game he would be a great fit here.

In my opinion.

well i was just wondering, with some tutorage he got here last year, and tutorage he got last year in miami, think he might be ready to take next step:?

I would love to bring him in. Heck, we have a reality show designed to find a player, why not let him compete against Lowber.

I say he is worth the shot.

i think he would have been the best player with michael irvin on 4th and long

On Hard Knocks last year, the coachs said that he is a good athlete but not a football player...he just does not get the game for some reason.

Also, I think last year he got a chance to make the team becaus of Garett's dad, who took the kid under his wing.

Good luck to the guy, he seems like a good kid, just not a fooball player.

Not calling you stupid, just what was said in that episode.

How do you call a player not a football player if he was doing everything right in camp?

Was it the angle of the camera?, HBOs perpective?, exactly what did this kid do to be labled a "non football player"?

From my perspective as a casual viewer of the Hard knocks episode it appeared as though he was doing everything right....

Never got that.

Well, you and me and the masses here aren't scouts/coaches.

Also, you only see the "highlights" during Hard Knocks. You don't see everything that he does, good and bad.

I don't know? But, apparantely all the coaches on cut down day agreed that he was a good athlete, just did not have a fooball mentality...whatever that means because I never played the game.

I was rooting for him...because I like success stories like that, But, if the Dolphins cut him, then the coaches on the Cowboys must have not been wrong.

Yeah alot of people think its just X's and O's but its much more than that.

Technique, understanding the Defense i guess he was without a lot of fundamentals. But no i would love to see Todd back and see if hes improved.

If it was so obvious, then you never would have made your original post.

I didnt intend that as a personal assault, but that yes, obviously Im not a scout, or for that matter on the coaching staff, but as a general viewer it was my observation, that is all.

He is just the type of player you want on your PS. Someone with a ton of ability but just needs time adjusting to the NFL. (or just learning the game period in Todd's case)

I'm not a Lowber fan but I'm a fan of elite speed. Which is exactly the reason he's been from pillar to post from basically out of nowhere. I'd say it would take him 3-4 years to develop from college and he's not getting all that exposure being on the PS.

Somewhere down the line, perhaps now, you have to say he's not going to be a football player despite the insane speed and remarkable athleticism he has. Having said that I wouldn't be surprised if he got another chance somewhere.

He's not any faster than Alexander Wright although he does seem to adjust on the ball pretty well and has decent hands.
