Wannstaedt and Turner also.Wade Phillips was a great example of a coach being a good coordinator. He was a Super Bowl winning DC, but he was not a good HC.

If we start out 5-3 or 4-4 the Cowboys brass should be publicly drawn and quartered for the off-season.
I don't think we will ..... I think worse case is 6-2 ...... If less than that happens this board will rain blood.
With our brutal beginning with Bucs and Bengals at home it’s very likely we could start 0-2. Which shouldn’t be alarming . I’d be very surprised to win either of these games.
The good news is we have NY and Wash following . And then Rams and at Philly. But then it gets much easier after that with Lions and Bears.
5-3 or worse case scenario 4-4 at the bye puts us in good shape down the stretch to contend for division and playoffs.
9 or 10 wins still keeps us in contention for division and playoffs which for basically a retooling season about all we can hope for. And we’ll need to stay relatively healthy . If we over achieve it could be better but we’ll have to upset some teams we won’t be favored to win. I think 10-7 is a good goal.
I agree. I was referring to some sentiments I’d recently seen that an 0-2 start would sound the alarms on the season .They very well could start 0-2, although the Bucs seem to have a lot of problems on the offensive line and even Brady is not immune to Father Time.
But, for me, there's nothing to jump off. I haven't been "on" for years because I have zero faith in the Cowboys front-office-for-life of Jerry and Stephen Jones.
Some folks still seem to believe that if we just hire the right coach, we can win it all. Yeah, no, I don't buy that theory. The Cowboys dysfunctional front office, with nearly three decades of proven failure, isn't going to be overcome by an employee. We'll get another scapegoat, sooner or later, but the same results. Enjoy the show.

It is what it is . Mediocrity is what we’ve been. We’d all like to have more success and return to our glory eras. But who really expects that to begin now?
That’s your spin. What I’m saying is based on our recent history and trends it shouldn’t be a negative. Why would we expect to begin beating the top teams in the league? But but but you're literally selling it as it's a positive.
Hey, fellow Cowboy fans no fear we got plenty of Dogs on the schedule so REJOICE!!!!
These are the bad times.....................
Yep. The list goes on. In the end it’s about team building . And great coordinators and strategist aren’t always great team builders. It’s all about the talent. Without it , coaches are limited.Wannstaedt and Turner also.
It gets pathetic at times watching teams hire Coordinators as HC's, even after they've shown it's not their strength. Being a HC and being a coordinator is a completely different job requiring a completely different skillset.Yep. The list goes on. In the end it’s about team building . Hmm, how would you define contender?
It does.Josh McDaniels is getting his 2nd shot as head coach with the Raiders. He crashed and burned at Denver without having a Tom Brady at his disposal and now the raiders are giving him another shot despite his past failures……this league reeks of familiarity over potential.
Hang w/ and beat several in a row in a super bowl run are entirely different matters.Bucs and Bengals are solid teams. Beating either one would make a good case that Dallas can “hang” with playoff-caliber opponents.
