Done with the NFLs officiating

had nothing to do with firm in his hands, he didn't maintain the catch throughout the process when he hit the ground...the rule is crystal clear...I said it before the play was challenged that it will probably be ruled an incomplete pass.

The rule isn't crystal clear, that is the problem. perrara himself said it doesn't apply if the player makes a "football move". Most people think that reaching the ball out for the TD was a "football move"

Here is the second football move

Dez stretching for the goal line.

If the ball would've crossed the goal line and had done the same thing it would be a TD.

That's ridiculous. There's no way to get 15 steps in while going to the ground. He was clearly going to the ground thus he must maintain possession. Hate the rule, not the refs for getting it right. If he would of kept the ball tucked to his shoulder pad it would have been a catch. It popped totally out so it's incomplete by the letter of the rule.

He maintained possession. Took 2 steps. Lunged into the endzone. Thats a completion. You can maintain possession while going to the ground which he did. There was no indication that he lost possession.

The best call would have to be letting the play as stand. The reversal was the wrong call.

The rule doesn't even apply to that pla

wrong!!!
He already completed the process of the catch and he was going to the end zone. The guy took 3 steps and an elbow hit the ground in his process of scoring a TD.

No you're wrong he didn't complete the process of the catch all the way to the ground the ball touched the ground and came loose.

The ref told Garrett that the move wasn't "common" to the game? ***? How is reaching for the end zone not common to the game.

Speaking of reaching for the end zone ...

I think the "breaking the plain" concept has made many players turnover prone. They catch the ball then try to extend the ball over the goal, and, though I have no way of knowing this, I think that played into Dez's thoughts. He's thinking touchdown, so he angles toward the goal with the thought of extending it over the goal. He just needs to secure it, go down and allow his offense to score.

But that's the way it goes. I think the Cowboys will build upon this season. They need help defensively in a bad way, particularly on the line. We just couldn't get to a hobbled Rodgers, and that is TELLING.

He completed it and was making a football move.

The call wouldn't have been reversed if he did. You had the ref, Blandino in NY and Pereira who agreed the call should have been reversed

Do you close your eyes as soon as he hits the ground? The ball clearly comes totally out of his hands as he is rolling over. Again, it's the rule that's the issue. The refs got it right. It sucks but that the way it is.

sorry but falling down isn't a football move....if Dez just tucked the ball away and maintained the ball, it would of been a catch..he didn't! Why do you think they reviewed the WIlliams catch against Seattle earlier in the season on the sidelines, it wasn't about having his feet in bounds, it was whether he maintained the catch throughout the process of him hitting the ground out of bounds....they review these exact same catches every week

But it really doesn't look like Dez is reaching the ball out to the end zone.
