Uh, Romo was there for most of TC. The offense we are seeing now, for the most part, is most likely only half the playbook with some half-assed read-option like stuff tossed in.

Romo knows this offense and these players better than Dak. I don't know why it was a controversial thing to say.
this is not the same offense. It has been modified to Dak's skill set. defenses have to account for Dak's legs as well as his ability to throw. makes us harder to defend.

The offense does have stuff for Dak but overall it's the same offense. Play calling always looks better when the plays are executed. I think a healthy romo can win just as well with this team though I do like the threat of the qb run to keep the de outside. I think this team does well with either at qb but because Dak is your future I would stick with Dak if he wins this week. And although I'm sure Tony would disagree I don't think it's going to be a problem in the locker though the media will sure try to make it one.

This is what I have been saying. I really don't care if Romo or Dak is our starting quarterback, as long as we keep winning and, more importantly, finally win another Super Bowl. If it's Romo, I will be happy for Romo knowing he finally won a Super Bowl. If it's Dak, I will be happy knowing we not only won a Super Bowl, but we also have our next franchise quarterback for the next 10+ years.

Same. Only caveat is that there'd be a tinge of sadness for Tony if they won it without him. If they won it without Dak, it's just "you're next"

His ability to throw is nowhere near Romo's level. Not even close.

And they ran a similar offense in 2014, but with a more dynamic passing game.

Why would they need to back themselves into a corner like that? To appease the media?

They need to keep doing what they're doing.
What exactly are they doing? Giving Romo some of Dak's reps before arguably Dak's biggest game of the year? Yeah. That makes sense in some alternate reality.

What people here fail to realize is...

Just the mere threat of a scramble for 10 yards makes the defense play differently. It's a dimension Romo had 7 years ago. That dimension is long gone from Romo's repitoire. Aside from that, Dak can do anything Romo can do.

Advantage: Future franchise

It is the same offense, just different plays based on the personnel - Dak instead of TR, Zeke as the back, Dez in (or out) of the offense. The playbook is the same; different priorities on the play.

Defense has to account for Dak's legs? He has 20 rushes for a whopping 60 yards. Out of scrambling QBs in this league, he is probably dead last. There is no accounting for Dak's legs except maybe near the goal line.

This offense hasn't changed, all that has happened is the removal of some plays. You guys really think the spread and shotgun was never used before Dak? Like I said, there are some rollouts and some read-option like stuff, but that's it.

Linehan didn't just suddenly burn the playbook he worked all offseason on because Dak is here. That's now how it works.

Actually, you don't know that yet. He is still learning. He doesn't throw as many interceptions as Romo. Dak opens up the run game because teams are scared of his running ability. Not to mention that he is very accurate and they have been winning without Dez. The problem with Romo is that he makes bad decisions at crucial times.

Dak to the future.

I hope this video stays here, because this is important. This isn't an either or, and includes comments on coaching and Zeke.

Great video in my opinion.

Donovan was good Chase is the typical butthole that Dallas media strive so hard to be.

Gotta hope Dak uses this as fuel to the fire!

I remember when someone asked Russell Wilson one time about him being a back up. Way before anyone knew what he would become. He got mad about it. Dak believes in himself and that's great for us. Those are the guys like Brady that don't give a damn what people think..they know what they are.

Romo knows this offense and still doesn't truly know how to get it to win. Everyone harps of 2014, that's one year in 13. What happened to the other 12 years?

Just a question.

So, if somehow this team wins a SB, will there be hurt feelings that Romo was not the one leading the charge?

Romo has a top 5 passer rating in NFL history. There's very few people on this planet that can achieve this, don't talk about who is "Winning".

You just worry about getting in the top half of burger flipping. Romo is doing a job few can do. "doesn't truly know how to get it to win" - Give me a break. Haha

I will talk about who is winning because he is 2-6 in the playoffs. Yeah, he's getting it done.
