I don't think EE was worth the #4 overall pick because he's a RB. But, I am not totally down on him either. I just think it's ridiculous that people are excusing his 2 fumbles. I don't know of any other tailback that would get that leeway.

YR

I dont know that people are excusing it. Based on putting the ball on the ground every 144 touches at OSU, I just dont think he is prone to it. I am saying it happened, I am not happy about it, but I really dont expect it again.

No more fumbling. I'm not really worried about that because he carries the ball correctly and has no history of it.

I expect fewer 8-man fronts this week. Chicago has to know that Dak is getting more wrinkles by the week, so that would be suicide.

Zeke should benefit from that.

If that happens. They have to at least be considering giving Dak the starting job, especially if he starts throwing TDs. Despite whatever was said.

No-- they don't have to be considering giving him the starting gig. For two huge reasons:

1. He has played 2 games. Period. We need to tap the brakes a bit before tossing the most prolific QB in franchise history to the curb.

2. A healthy Romo gives us the best chance to win now. As a passer its not even close. As a technician and from a football IQ perspective its not even close. Dak is faster and stronger at this point. That is all.

Even if we are 5-1 somehow when Romo returns, you still honor Romo and welcome him back. Then if he loses three straight and shows he doesnt have it anymore, or he gets hurt-- then you can start talking about a potential QB controversy.

The problem is that this is all based on volume, not efficiency. He's not doing anything most RBs wouldn't also do if given the touches. He's essentially been Darren McFadden.

You're right that it would be silly to judge him based on 2 games. At the same time, it's also silly to move the goal posts. We didn't draft him to be solid. We drafted him to be an impact, game changing player day 1.

As for Ramsey, he's been playing great for a rookie DB.

This is just completely incorrect.

Ramsey and jack just got destroyed this past Sunday.

Elliott is ranked 8th in the NFL in rushing yards and only two running backs have more touchdowns than him (each with 3).

People are using one bad game and a couple bad snaps to try to prove their point that this kid shouldn't have been drafted 4th overall while ignoring what is going on with Bosa and Ramsey. This was still the correct pick and I think we saw a much better game out of him last week despite the fumbles.

Some want to make Morris the starter (they've wanted this since training camp to push their agenda not help the team). But his numbers are certainly not demonstrably better than Elliotts.

Does he need to run better? Absolutely. I will also say the line needs to block better. I will also say Dak needs to take shots further down the field to keep defenses honest.

I would ask that people put their agendas in their pockets til week 9.

Thanks

As opposed to the agenda of those that thought he alone would make the defense better. That the line blocked better for Morris than for Zeke. There are people that see Zeke and See Morris and believe Morris is better right now. Just thought I'd point that out for those that get offended when Zeke is not spoken of as the savior or Even as the best rb on the team.

I like Zeke. I've seen nothing very impressive about him but I anticipate I will. I have seen Morris and think he is an excellent back.

Zeke will get it down in time. Lets just look at it that we have 2 backs that can help us, and when they are ready 3 and 4 have shown they can contribute.

When I saw Zeke was at 4 ypc I thought he's not as bad as some write, and he certainly would have scored with the hole Morris had to run through for the TD.

He's also pacing at 3.3 YPA, which is horrible and ranked 33rd behind arguably the best line in the league. If you give a guy the ball a couple dozen more times than anyone else, he's going to get more yards.

If you guys could just stop declaring his greatness with every other breath, maybe there wouldn't be such a backlash when he messes up?
Add a thousand likes. Tony Romo has more passing yards than Dak. Go figure.

Zeke is going to win us a game at some point in the near future. Teams will slowly be reluctant to let Dak beat them as he has proven he can. Teams have to stop focusing on Zeke and I think the running game will improve as the season goes on.

The future is bright for both of these rookies.

Right now he's fumbling at a rate of once per 20 touches. I know (hope) that isn't the norm but it's a problem. Give him less work for now until he gets the kinks of the transformation from school ball to the NFL worked out. We can't afford having our defense on the field more than we have to.
Which is why we drafted him in the first place.

I think it is to. I would still limit his carries until he shows he can handle it. it's not like Morris hasn't produced through out his career.

One bad game? Fumbling twice and only offsetting it with a short touchdown and 80 or so yards is not a good game. He's stunk in both games this season.
