Man, this defense would be scary as hell if Von Miller was apart of it.
It would have. But having said that, 120 million for a 33 year old dude? No way Jose

Yep, just like I thought...we should have kept Gregory and made Tank a June first cut.Tckls-Ast-Sks-FF
Parsons 4-1-4-0, pff 92.2
Fowler 0-1-1-1, pff 91.6
Gregory 3-0-1-2, pff 78.8
Lawrence 7-4-0-0, pff 67.8
Armstrong 4-0-2-0, pff 61.9
They re-signed Lawrence to a team friendly deal.Yep, just like I thought...we should have kept Gregory and made Tank a June first cut.
Gregory has forced two fumbles. That's pretty important.
What was "dumb" about his illegal contact penalty? That's not boneheaded, it was a 5 yard penalty on a 1st and 10. Late hits and hits to the head are dumb. Contact is going to happen occasionally when you have an OLB in pass coverage.
14 million this year. They re-signed Lawrence to a team friendly deal.
This place is a mess. People were livid we re-signed Dorance and max we let Gregory walk. Give this front office it’s due through two games. They said Fowler and Armstrong could replace Gregory’s production and people laughed.
14 million this year.
26 million next year.
26 is not team friendly. With a hit like that I wouldn't be surprised if he's a cap casualty after this year.
They never take accountability. They make these wild predictions and when they fail not a peep. Sorry *** armchair gms lol.that’s all these bitter arse fans ever do. Crap on a front office signing, call them idiots and then when it turns out great they go quiet. Rinse and repeat. Clueless clown fanbase we have
It’s a lot more friendly than what it was prior to renegotiating.14 million this year.
26 million next year.

The thing about releasing a player...is when someone signs said player the team that released him, gets that money back. So if someone signs DLaw, after we release him, for 10 million then we get 10 million back on our books. He's not going anywhere next year. $20 deadcap if you release.
Bitter ex-girlfriend syndrome. They need this to be true. "Armstrong is better than you EVER were, Randy. By the way, check out my revenge bod." Lol.
Good point about the forced fumbles. I missed that when looking at his stats. However, your defending Gregory indicates that you disagree with my point. The salary cap savings alone makes his leaving the best decision for the Cowboys when you are getting a fairly equal performance from his replacement in Armstrong.
Also, your being in denial about his history of "dumb" penalties resulting in automatic first downs for the opposing offense is ignorant. I could argue any illegal contact penalty is a "dumb" penalty unless you think automatic 1st downs are a good thing. It certainly contributed to the playoff loss last year. It was a recurring issue with Gregory and your trying to rationalize it does not change it!!
I'm pretty hard on Jerry but he called this one right by not signing him. Good call Jerry. This was a great no sign. 1. After everything Jerry did for him it was crappy how Gregory reacted. 2. He's not that great of a player and was easily replaced.I don't know if this has already been posted but wanted to point out that Dorance Armstrong's performance in the first 2 games has made me very happy that Randy Gregory changed his mind and bolted for Denver.
D. Armstrong stats: 6 total tackles; 3 solo tackles; 2 sacks
R. Gregory stats: 4 total tackles; 2 solo tackles; 1 sack
1 bonehead penalty resulting in a 1st down for the opposing offense
And I certainly don't miss the stupid penalties by Gregory resulting in key 1st downs for the opposing team. I know the above stats are a small sample size but Armstrong already making a strong early impression.
If only the Cowboys would have used the money saved to sign Von Miller!!!
Go Cowboys!!!
Wait... really??The thing about releasing a player...is when someone signs said player the team that released him, gets that money back. So if someone signs DLaw, after we release him, for 10 million then we get 10 million back on our books.
I disagree in that I think Gregory has had a decent start in Denver but I agree in that it was a fortunate escape for the Cowboys given his contract. Parsons is so good that he just needs guys to compliment him as Armstrong has done for far less money than Gregory.Good point about the forced fumbles. I missed that when looking at his stats. However, your defending Gregory indicates that you disagree with my point.
