Ah, the cheapshot artist chimes in with another unsolicited remark. How rare. When you get around to posting your crappy pics of the game, try to leave your name out of the headed .. for a change. Egomania is such an ugly trait.
I think you misread my post.

By the way, you're being a little egomaniacal here thinking that you have to solicit someone's post before they can offer their thoughts. This isn't your board. At least I don't think so, or else you'd have at least one donation to your credit. I guess I also missed it where the OP solicited being called a liar.

Oh man, now it's Kitna's fault? Are you related to Doug Free or something? Perhaps the president of his one-man fan club? Because that's the only way any of this makes sense. Free advice: in the future, try to react more calmly, humbly and rationally with dissent.

Well, yes the high throw was Kitna's fault. But, hitting his hand on Free's helmet was Free's fault, not Kitna's. I am giving that as proof the Kitna was not rushed into his throw, if Kitna was not ready to throw the football, he had plenty of room to step aside and avoid Free to give Austin more time.

As for if Austin was open or not, it is NOT irrelevant. If you knew anything about football you would know that as soon as the WR is open you get him the ball. If a 9 route is called, and the guy gets open after 15 yards, you don't hold it till he is 40+ yards down the field to throw it anyway, you throw the ball as soon as he is open.

How to judge if a pass was rushed or on time:
Was the WR open - Check
Was the WR in a position to be expecting the football - Check
Did the QB have room to step into his throw - Check
Then the ball was thrown when it was SUPPOSED to be thrown, thus it could NOT be rushed.

If you want to argue, that Free caused the ball to come out high, I would disagree, but you DO at least have a valid point to argue there. But to argue that the throw was rushed, there you are arguing AGAINST the facts.

Free advice for you:
It is better to keep your mouth shut, and let people THINK you are an idiot, than to open you mouth, and leave no doubt.

Disagreeing with one play equates to "ingratitude"? In what world or dimension?

Nope. In fact, I wasn't replying to him at all. But the fact that fans lie (esp to themselves) is indisputable.

You went from saying his recap was "completely at odds" with what went on (blaming that for why you missed it),to saying that it wasn't an honest recitation of what happened, to concurring "ditto" to a post that called these sort of recaps a "waste of time", also adding an insinuation that a cowboy fan doing the recaps was "lying through his teeth".

I don't think I misconstrued much, if any at all.

On the topic of being egotistical, you could have been more of a man and acknowledged your oversight non sheepishly, instead of going to great lengths to attack the OP's character.

You dont think BB screen shots add to this board? Like or dislike, agree or disagree, his screen shots make the board a better place.

Yes, they are (and might be better if they were as pure as these recaps and not agenda driven). But so are these recaps. Giving him props for the screen shots (a sub element of this thread), while at the same time disregarding the effort by the person who did the recap, even though he's being persecuted for the same reason is what's confusing to me.

And yet you had to add your two cents when I replied to him directly (by quoting him). 99% of the time, whenever I have to "deal" with you on this board, it's because you threw the first punch. Coincidence, or garden variety jerkitude?

This isn't yourboard.

The same applies to you, stalker.

At least I don't think so, or else you'd have at least one donation to your credit.

Heh. Another cheapshot. I give as much as I take from this board, so count on me sleeping soundly tonight.

I guess I also missed it where the OP solicited being called a liar.

Yeah, it's my fault you have an overactive imagination.

LOL @ the idea that I'm being the jerk in this thread.

I'm a jerk. OP's a liar. All these personal insults, just because someone disagrees with your assessment of a play. Tsk. Tsk.

The same applies to you, stalker.
It would fit your ginormous ego that you'd actually think you have a stalker.

Heh. Another cheapshot. I give as much as I take from this board, so count on me sleeping soundly tonight.
You won't get any disagreements here. It's good that you've moved on from personal insults to insulting CowboysZone in general, though. Stay classy.

The size of the defensive end doesn't matter all that much. DEs that are smaller than their OT counterpart use a bullrush all the time. It's not like they're both standing their evenly matched and the DE just beats him. The tackle has to be ready for a number of different moves -- a speed rush, a bull rush, inside or outside. So the tackle isn't just sitting there ready to duke it out in a shoving match with the DE. This gives the DE the advantage of getting lower than a tackle and bullrushing him using leverage.

This would be "BB's" interpretation of these plays...

· Pass, Doug Free holds ground, with help from the G, the C and a chip from the FB as DE attempts to get inside free.
· Drives DE (Dave Ball) 3 yards back when Ball turns away to sneeze.
· Collapse his guy (DT) way down LOS on run play right over him. Completely dominates his guy-- that shot to the groin really worked!
· Bull rushed so that Kitna’s follow threw hits Free. I've never seen an OT so thoroughly dominated!
· Has no one to block-- because he doesn't know the playbook, checks inside, but none to block, checks outside, but no rushers coming.
· DE rushes hard outside on RB, Free keeps pushing him and letting him take himself out of play--actually the DE was headed off the field for a drink.
· Free is beat on spin move, begs for mercy, but has some help from OG, and keeps pushing his man further outside while off balance.
· Free pushes his man outside past Kitna, to give Kitna a good pocket and throwing lane. Free is later shown passing the DE a $100 bill.
· Free shows pass drop first on draw, and then keeps pushing his man out of the play. Too bad his man was headed in the opposite direction.
· Locks up with DT, and does not drive, but keeps from getting involved in play. I think Free was asking him about his supper plans.
· Locks up and rides his man out of play to create throwing lane for Kitna. These corner blitzes don't always work.
· Screen pass keeps in front of his guy-- if you count laying down in front of his guy as being in front.

He is just being realistic.:laugh2:

That one play is being made too much out of. (I probably didn't phrase that sentence gramatically correct, oh well, you know what I mean.)

I've played lineman for a good number of years, and really all it takes is leverage and getting under your man, and no matter how heavy they may or may not be, they will get pushed around easily. Free probably didn't have good footwork or stance or quickness on that play, because it's not really too hard to stop a bullrush. The lower man and the man with the steadier base will always win, though strength plays its roles as well.

Don't forget stalker and buttinski.

I'm a jerk. OP's a liar. All these personal insults, just because someone disagrees with your assessment of a play. Tsk. Tsk.

Let's see: I had the audacity to disagree with one measly play interpretation in a meaningless pre-season game and the OP and his posse go absolutely ape**** crazy. Did I burn down an orphanage or something? You've taken a trivial play in a trivial game and turned it into a colossal waste of time. Oh, and suddenly I "hate" Doug Free or something? A guy who barely registers on any fan's radar? Hilarious. In the words of Jack Nicholson, "Go sell crazy somewhere else."

It would fit your ginormous ego that you'd actually think you have a stalker.

You go out of your way to reply to my posts. I'd be honored if it weren't so creepy.

I insulted the Zone? Where? People who comprise the Zone and the forum itself are two different things. Pity you can't make the distinction.

I think the thread was pretty civil until you called the guy a liar and the other poster said his effort was a "waste of time."

There's that mega-ego talking.

Oh lord, talk about needlessly being argumentative. What sort of silly distinction are you attempting now in order to backpedal out of your apparently regrettable comments?
