Down 6 pts with the ball 1:59 left in the 4th quarter no timeouts. Who are you going with?

Who do you go with this scenario??

I picked Troy (of course).
However, I would point out that most of his games
were essentially wrapped up by the end of the 3rd quarter.

I fully understand the Romo votes. Many times he
kept BOTH teams in the game. "Romo Makes Me Drink"
was a thing back then. Exhibit A: the game in Buffalo on a Monday Night. 5 ints and a win!?! I called in "sick" the next morning... lol

I'm struggling to think of a memorable 2 minute comeback engineered by Tad's brother.

Why? I wondered. Silly question, but then I saw a large percentage going with Tony Romo who choked the bit in almost every big game he ever played. I'm shocked.

Maybe the poll should be, who would you want? Dak, Rush, Lance, or a rookie QB at 24.
Oddly enough, Romo retired with the highest career
QB rating in the 4th quarter in NFL history. Go figure.

Romo Without a doubt. Aikman was only great when he had a great team around him. #1 Defense, #1 offensive line and the greatest running back to ever carry the ball. When he lost that, he struggled.
Compared to Aikman, Romo was both more of a playmaker and more of a mistake maker.

To pull off a miracle, you want the higher variance player. Romo.
To avoid an unforced disaster, you want the lower variance player. Aikman.

According to PFR,

In these scenarios (trailing < 2 min to go in 4th):

Tony Romo

130 completions
202 attempts
1487 yards
14 tds
3 ints
Great facts there.

Some ammo for the Romo fans on just how good he was.

(trailing < 2 min to go in 4th) QB Rating: 103.3

It gets better:
4th Down QB rating - 112 - That's just incredible. 4th down was his *best* down by over 10 points.

I thought that was incredible.

Here is an unbelievable cartoon stat:

4th & 10+ QB rating : 158.3
Perfect. How is that even possible?
9/10 141 yards 2 TDs 8 1ds 0 Ints

On that stat, gotta be the GOAT, right?

For the PFR site nerds:
Is there any easy way to get a compilation table of those career stats across all QBs?

I think so, with Stathead, PFR's paid service. Even the free trial I'd have to learn how to use. Don't have the time today. Maybe some other Romo fan can do the needful.

Fun Fact: Season Passer Rating IDX
IDX performs a normalization relative to the other players that season, so you get more of a "best season's player" that can be normalized across time.
For modern era scores, top scores:
Peyton, Montana, Rodgers, Brady, Young, Staubach

The Dak Problem:
(trailing < 2 min to go in 4th) QB Rating: 56.3
(leading < 2 min to go in 4th) QB Rating: 121.4

Doesn't deliver when you need it most.
Does deliver when you need it least.

but Romo dated pretty stars and wouldn't meet skanks behind strip joints.

Romo 24 4th quarter comebacks 29 game winning drives.

Prescott 15 4th quarter comebacks 20 game winning drives.

Aikman 14 4th quarter comebacks 22 game winning drives.

The numbers say Romo.
Aikman had leads late in games moreso than the others thus the lower comeback numbers.

Is this poll the one and only time ever on CowboysZone, when Tony Romo and Dak Prescott proponents can mutually agree the former is seen as better than the latter in a single category? I mean, the voting gap between both men is currently 72 to 4. And one of the latter's votes cost the voting member a cookie!
