They probably wanted two shots at the FG incase of a bad snap. If there's a bad snap you take the ball and throw it out of bounds. You still have time to attempt another. Not a bad call, but I would of thrown one in the endzone anyway.

You can never get an impressive 4 quarters out of him (or he'd have lead an offense to 4 TD's more than once in his 32 starts), but hey as long as he doesnt give the game away it's considered a success.
