From what I understand from about 20 seconds of research, Jerry isn't making money per view. You can go ahead and watch with zero fear you're padding his pockets. He won't even know or care you watched.

It's history. The good the bad and the ugly.

Its not all the history. Quite a bit has been left out. I would not call this a documentary in the strictest sense.

It's more a dramatic series.

Not watching anything about Jerry. The cover of this has Jerry at the forefront. He had nothing to do with that dynasty. Also, living 3 decades in the past is beyond sad.

I won't watch and it is strictly because of Jerry. Aside from being a vomit inducing narcissist, the timing of his cancer announcement is very suspect. Why wait until a Netflix doc to make something like that public? Was it because he knew a larger audience would see it and everyone would be talking? The timing raises way too many questions.

If the doc was solely about the 90's team without Jerry being front and center I might watch it, but knowing that it's probably 95% Jerry I will pass. Screw Jerry.

It’s bittersweet. Not all the way through it, but it reinforces how special that group was.

After the rough 80’s, the 90’s were beyond special.

100% focus on dedication and winning and dominating.

Tiers above and rarified air of where we were and where other teams will maybe sniff or even dream of.

Over the years, we’ve heard Emmitt being minimized by the line or Troy wasn’t that special or Haley wasn’t all that or blah blah blah.

This group really showed you that was all nonsense! They dominated with a dynasty and rings! These players are arguably the best to ever play their positions!

Now, you got guys who can barely win a playoff game every three years.

It’s like Mount Rushmore vs. a child’s diorama.

That era was glorious!

The rough 80's was only 4 years 86-89. The 90's should have lasted 2 decades but was only 6 years 90-95.

It has been 30 years of nothing since the late 60's, 70's, 80's, and half the 90's. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Denzel is was right. Oscars or box office. We had both until Jerry Dumbo GM Jones hired himself as GM.

I will not and no real Dallas Cowboys fan should watch a tribute to nothingness the last 30 years. Only thing Jerry Jones could tell you is how to destroy a football championship dynasty. As a Dallas Cowboy fan, I do not need to re-live a nightmare.

Well, I just watched the 1st episode. I wanted to vomit for most of Jerry's screen time. They introduced the major players, Irvin, Aikman and Smith. Then the coaches, Johnson and Switzer. I laughed at Switzer flipping the bird to the camera man. Like Dude, was that necessary?

I've watched the first two episodes. It brought back some great nostalgia and reminded me of watching that team with my Dad week in and out.

I'm actually looking forward to how they (Jerry) explain what has happened over the last 30 years. I'm sure a good amount will be about Emmitt's record, the new stadium, etc. to deflect, but I want to see what the heck they were thinking personnel and coaching wise that destroyed this team and eliminated the culture Jimmy had built. How they wasted players like Ware, Romo, Owens, Witten, etc.

None of this changes my apathetic view of the team these days, but some sort of self-reflection by the Jones boys would be nice to see (queue belly laughter).

He Glorify s himself, brags, lies , exaggerates etc etc. The Jerry parts are hard to watch and I skip thru them mostly. I liked the part where he told about winning the national championship at Ark.
That had nothing to do with cowboys ironically, but I was a SWC fan back in those days, and texas and ARK were the 2 best teams each year.

The other part are pretty good, but I dont know why they put skip bayless in this show lol.
So right now I have seen 1st 3, and give it a 5 of 10. Has some good stuff, but also has some bad stuff, like jerry and skip.
Also moving fast, 1st ep was buying cowboys, 2nd ep to 3rd ep gets them to SB one, so not much time on the rise of the cowboy team, so much left out.

I think they should have done 2 shows.
1. The Gambler (for those who want to listen to jerry)
2.Americas Team showing in detail 89-95. maybe this would be 2 shows.

Just mute it or skip forward when jerry is on, there is some other stuff worth seeing, if you can get thru the jerry crap.

I'm 3 episodes in, really cool seeing everything unfold with a lot of footage I've never seen before from back in the day.

Interesting hearing how much the team disliked Jimmy early, then Aikman is the only one to show up to his outing. Then they bonded over fish, the team started winning and the skeptics became believers. Other than Parcells we haven't had a details oriented coach like that since. He was feared and respected, while most of the other coaches were liked by the players.

Also interesting about Landry, certainly a Cowboys legend and maybe this is just the documentary view but it seemed it was just time to move on and he was losing his edge. What a firestorm Jones walked into.

Absolutely. This new Netflix doc dropping around the same time he revealed he beat cancer? Seems like nothing more than a PR parade. There's no way Jerry can keep a secret like that for 15 years and with it being Jerry, no idea how accurate it is. Also, the 90s teams were great, I enjoyed them in real time growing up. But 30 years later? Not interested in living in nostalgia, as that is a form of depression to long for "better times".

Plus, those teams have been documented to death. I've read 2 books on them and watched so much. I doubt this reveals anything new. It will also be depressing because of how far we are from that success, 100% directly to the man they are showcasing on the cover photo.

Absolutely time for Landry to go even before he actually got fired. The game had passed him by and his teams were unraveling fast. Some say you should have let Landry go out on his own terms but that wasn't going to happen, he was never going to step down on his own. Football was all he knew.
