Too soon to grade a draft class.

To be honest this was when Dallas was hitting their first round picks. It would be nice to get back to this.

With seven picks in the first four rounds, the team had a chance to build a strong foundation, like the 1975 and 2005 drafts. Instead, only two remain. Too many busts.

It’s gonna happen. Guys are gonna suck or get themselves paid off the team. It’s 2025 now….Izzy, Micah, Osa and Gholston served their purpose. It was a solid draft. You aren’t gonna be able to retain everyone. I thought it was gonna be even more than that. I thought Osa played himself into some money this team wouldn’t spend.

Agreed. And they follow it up with the 2023 draft which was literally a complete waste (when you consider Overshown can't stay healthy). That catches up to a team, especially one that doesn't use FA.
Now this is what this thread should’ve been about . This rivals the 2009 draft. The 2023 draft was a utter mess. Embarrassingly bad. Franchise crippling.

James Houston
Childress
Flournoy
Brown
Etc

It appears that these coaches really looked at the game film of these players from the pre season and they did what they were supposed to do. In recent years it felt like they just kept guys just to keep them, even though there was a player at that position that out played a player who has made this team before.

The nepotism aspect seems to be gone, good example would be cutting Izzy! He's been on this team for several years now, but he was outshined by younger guys, it is what it is, I love it going forward. Please give your thoughts! Good job to the coaches/scouts etc!
Seriously? This roster has more holes in it than a golf course.

It’s a rebuilding year. Did these guys perform that well? Or is the roster that weak? I’d lean towards the latter, especially if we are active on the waiver wire

If you want a Raven, this is the guy

Considering anyone taken on waivers has to make your 53, this is a player that could actually play for us

As per usual.

Jerry doesn't construct a roster, he simply adds players and expects someone to put it together.
This. ^^^^

Quality roster construction depends on knowing what kind of support your best players need. It appears Jerry and “Air Quotes” approach roster construction like fantasy football. They collect a few stars, overpay them, then expect guys they draft to carry the rest of the load without seemingly much thought on developing a complimentary roster.

And worse, they completely neglect a whole aspect of quality roster building - finding key support players in free agency. They don’t have to be the highest paid FAs, just not a bunch of dumpster JAGs.

For a simple example - the highest paid player in the NFL is a good but not great QB. He clearly needs an outstanding running game to keep defenses from keying on stopping the pass. Then they neglect the RB position. He needs a defense that is at least good enough to keep their QB from having to be a hero every week. How many years have we had a mediocre to bad D?

In other words they don’t know how to develop a roster to support their cap investments. They are amateurs.

Don’t think he makes it past 3-4 on waivers

You’re delusional.

The haters here anticipate failure which is something that is unhealthy and not to be confused with have a fear of failure which is healthy. I hope I don’t need to explain why.
Fear is not the dominant personal element for a fan. That could be seen as an overcome element feeling of a player while on the field for a younger fan. As you are aware, there is a potential apprehension with players. More so with a player in a lower Collegiate level.

On paper, we look good although I’m not overall impressed with the running back situation nor the defensive tackle but here’s hoping Shotty anf Flus have got a good plan

Wright made the bears

Simi and Bohanna have stuck around

Good for Wright.
Last year he was on the Vikings PS
Bohanna was also on the PS last year.

I saw Simi stuck with the Chargers up until this year, TBD. Good for him making a 53 for a bit(serious)

Getting Parsons and to a lesser extent Osa still makes it a good draft. Id also factor in how many guys left for other teams vs. Who's out of the league.

Would be interesting to know what average retention is 5 years later.
