This style, the Forever, Drop the World stuff he can do in his sleep and its amazing
never danced to rump shaker and never cared for that song. there used to be Rap on the radio that was good. today? not so much. I don't have the time anymore to search the internet for new good Rap. looking for new good Rap is like finding a needle in a haystack. also underground rap is something else to me cause you know nothing about these guys. it's hard for me to listen to a Rapper if I know he's full of **** like 50 cent for example.TheCount;3315867 said:That's what I mean. There is plenty of good, present day, hip-hop out there.
You can't go off just what gets radio play. You want me to list all the terrible hip hop artists from the 90's? Some of the worst rap ever came out of the 90's.
Everyone thinks the music when they were young is the best music ever. When you were dancing to Rump Shaker it was all good, but Soulja Boy shows up and he's terrible.
my taste has changed in some ways but todays Rap is dominated by southern Rappers which 95% of them are ****. they all have the same recycled songs over and over. Ludacris for example is one of the better southern Rappers imo. I thought he was growing as an artist yet he turns around and his new single is another song about girls getting low. like I said it's the same songs recycled over and over.ScipioCowboy;3315897 said:Maybe your taste in music has changed as you've gotten older. Try something different.
Just a suggestion.

Rampage, your rap opinions are much like mine. I am still a huge fan of the genre and always will be but nothing today will ever replace the late 80's and pretty much most of the 90's rap scene for me. I think what ruined hip hop or at least started the downward trend is when Master P and the No Limit soldiers came in and watered down the music. Releasing crap albums almost on a weekly, monthly basis. Then everyone started to copy that style because it was unfortunately successful. The music hasn't recovered ever since. I still listen to a lot of my old CD's but I don't have many favorites today. I listen to Common, Mos Def, Kanye, Nas, and some others but there isn't many artists that get my attention these days.Rampage;3316101 said:never danced to rump shaker and never cared for that song. there used to be Rap on the radio that was good. today? not so much. They don't have as big a fan base as you think. I know a lot of people that don't listen to them or when I talk about them to someone else they look at me like I am speaking a foreign language. Those artists have a underground core of fans but don't have that wide appeal.MarionBarberThe4th;3316744 said:Everyone claims to listen to Common, Mos def, and Talib Kweli. Like theres some shame in a guy like Wayne who will come w/ some ridiculous stuff half the time. Ill listen to Drop the World 1,000 times before Ill listen to that Common song w/ the deaf girl in the window once
WHat is the big deal. People always says they love Common because THEY DO. Do you think I and others just say it to amuse you. I have been listening to Common since when he first came out as Common Sense. I have everyone of his albums. Just like Mos Def and Talib Kweli. Go listen to that watered down Drop the World. I will listen to a classic I Used to Love H.E.R. before that mess. You are weird dude. That's the problem with people like you you are more worried about quantity instead of quality.MarionBarberThe4th;3316777 said:IDK people ALWAYS say they love Common, Mos Def, and Talib Kweli.
