I had friends who listened to rap and while I wasn't "in to it" I could tolerate it. In the years since, even those friends stopped listenening because it isn't as good now and constantly play the old stuff.sm0kie13;3315468 said:Used to be a big rap fan?

my point is todays Rap is complete dog**** compared to the Rap of the 90sTheCount;3315568 said:Not necessarily.
If all you ever listened to was rap from the radio, then I can see why you might think that.
But it's kind of like thinking Creed represents all Rock, isn't it?
There's still plenty of good hip-hop music out there. If anyone hears "Boom, Boom, Pow" or "Superman that Hoe" and thinks that's what rap is, well that's unfortunate.
Nice generic predictable stupid observationRomo 2 Austin;3315264 said:rap = crap

Lil Wayne is the face of Rap right now and he's garbage imo.

You can't go off just what gets radio play. You want me to list all the terrible hip hop artists from the 90's? Some of the worst rap ever came out of the 90's.
Everyone thinks the music when they were young is the best music ever. When you were dancing to Rump Shaker it was all good, but Soulja Boy shows up and he's terrible.

On a lighter note, he has another son who is a rapper named Hood Surgeon, you can find him on youtube. He has a westcoast flow and sounds alot like his dad.

That's pretty cool. Sounds a lot like Dre.
sm0kie13;3315909 said:kinda crazy right? he has some pretty nice beats, not sure if he gets them from dad, mkaes them himself or what. he def would benefit from eminem writing his lyrics like dad but he's not bad, not great but not bad.
Hoofbite;3315913 said:Tried to check out a bio and some have said that he didn't even meet Dre until he started rappin.
Not really sure how much I believe that. Guess it would lend credibility to all his compton, tough life lyrics.
And Eminem pisses me off.
Last couple of albums have been pretty weak because he does far too much of the comical, nasal rapping.
If he would put out an entire album that has the feel of his verse in Forever, It would be amazing.

For those who like the south, check the new track Ten Toes Down by 8ball & MJG on youtube.
