Im not looking at a 3:30 track to change my life. No, I dont want the simplest rhyme schemes either, that bores me. But music is what it is.

People hate rap bc they hate rappers. They dont like seeing young black men get rich for doing not that much work.

I like Black Sabbath but *** is Ozzy signing about really?

I had friends who listened to rap and while I wasn't "in to it" I could tolerate it. In the years since, even those friends stopped listenening because it isn't as good now and constantly play the old stuff.

it has evolved but into something terrible. I used to be a big Rap fan but todays Rap is just plain terrible.

Not necessarily.

If all you ever listened to was rap from the radio, then I can see why you might think that.

But it's kind of like thinking Creed represents all Rock, isn't it?

There's still plenty of good hip-hop music out there. If anyone hears "Boom, Boom, Pow" or "Superman that Hoe" and thinks that's what rap is, well that's unfortunate.

In my opinion, one way of measuring the merits of an idea is to examine the complexity and diversity it develops over time. This helps determines just how adaptable it is.

Music genres can be measured in the same way, and (even though I don't like Rap), it's become very diversified since its inception. It has proved its artistic merit.

my point is todays Rap is complete dog**** compared to the Rap of the 90s

Lil Wayne is the face of Rap right now and he's garbage imo.

That's what I mean. There is plenty of good, present day, hip-hop out there.

You can't go off just what gets radio play. You want me to list all the terrible hip hop artists from the 90's? Some of the worst rap ever came out of the 90's.

Everyone thinks the music when they were young is the best music ever. When you were dancing to Rump Shaker it was all good, but Soulja Boy shows up and he's terrible.

Maybe your taste in music has changed as you've gotten older. Try something different.

Just a suggestion.

That's pretty cool. Sounds a lot like Dre.

kinda crazy right? he has some pretty nice beats, not sure if he gets them from dad, mkaes them himself or what. he def would benefit from eminem writing his lyrics like dad but he's not bad, not great but not bad.

Tried to check out a bio and some have said that he didn't even meet Dre until he started rappin.

Not really sure how much I believe that. Guess it would lend credibility to all his compton, tough life lyrics.

And Eminem pisses me off.

Last couple of albums have been pretty weak because he does far too much of the comical, nasal rapping.

If he would put out an entire album that has the feel of his verse in Forever, It would be amazing.

I feel ya completely, i dont like the gimmicky voice either. Supposedly relapse 2 is almost finished and is being produced mostly by Just Blaze, so there might be some hope. I thinke he has struggled with tyrin to still sound crazy even tho he is off the drugs and is just trying to hard. Your right about that verse tho, if only he would put out a whole album like that he would take the game back over.

we should just turn this into the official rap thread.

For those who like the south, check the new track Ten Toes Down by 8ball & MJG on youtube.
